Catalyst.   Information on Computers in Psychology.

This site has a wealth of information on online research and articles, links, a discussion forum and a newsletter. It is updated regularly.
The Resource Center for Cyberculture Studies.
This site has resources for anyone interested in the study of cyberculture.  It has an excellent annotated bibliography, and "contains a collection of scholarly resources, including university-level courses in cyberculture, events and conferences, a monthly book review."
Center for the Study of Online Community.
From the UCLA Center for the Study of Online Community, this site features the work of Marc Smith, including a program called Netscan - "an experimental software package designed to aid in the sociological study of the Internet."
Journal of Online Behavior
This is a new online journal "dedicated to the empirical study of human behavior in the online environment"
Interpersonal Computing and Technology Journal.
This is the oldest online journal in this area and has many articles that address the psychology of virtual communities.  The associated email discussion list,  IPCT-L, is not very active at this time, but, it is one of the largest lists, with 714 subscribers (as of 04/99) making it a good place to read and post announcements relating to research into any aspect of cyberpsychology.
Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication.
Another old, well established, reputable online publication with a lot of very interesting articles.  It also features a very nice collection of links.
Webbah "Cyber" Resources
A highly subjective source to online information regarding MUDs, MOOs,
Cyberspace, Gender, Anthropology and other related and unrelated subjects.
Computer-Mediated Communication Magazine
Articles about "people, events, technology, public policy, culture, practices, study, and applications related to human communication and interaction in online environments. "

Home of the  The Electronic Journal of Communication / La Revue Electronique de Communicatio
The Social Science Computer Review
A hard copy journal that covers "societal impacts of information technology. "
The Society for Computers in Psychology
Devoted to "increase and diffuse knowledge of the use of computers in psychological research."


Virtual Communities - a masters thesis

Dave Coon did a study, the full text of which is available, which "determined empirically that for the majority of users of a certain Internet Chat Room the Internet fits a sociological definition of community."  This site has an excellent, long list of links to other virtual community research resources.
The Information Society
An excellent hard copy journal covering all aspects "related to information technologies and changes in society and culture."
Behavior Online
The premier site for all kinds of discussions with experts in many areas of psychology, including online behavior.
Journal of MUD Research
"A refereed electronic journal which publishes academic research that relates to MUDs."
Social Responses to Communication Technology Paper Abstracts
An excellent site that lists links to articles abstracts regarding social aspects of computers and computer mediated communications.
