This is an LED that glows green when voltage is greater than 12, yellow when between 11.9 and 11.5, and red when below 11.5. This is a very tidy alternative to a full-size gauge, I mounted it in place of the small black plastic cap that is between the tach, speedo, and fuel gauges. I connected the negative wire to one of the bolts on the headlight support and the positive wire to the fused side of the headlight circuit by removing the fuse connector and soldering on the additional wire. Hopefully this will give me some advanced warning should the alternator or regulator ever go bad, which unfortunately is somewhat common on recent Ducatis.
