MathWar in a Nutshell
One day, my daughter and I were playing a game of War. We decided that she should try to multiply the card values of each trick. Later, we decided that tricks should be taken by whoever could figure out the answer first rather than the person with the highest card. With that, the idea for this game was born.
MathWar is more or less like playing with flash cards, with the exception that there is a computer player who can attempt to answer if the human player is too slow. A game of MathWar consists of a set number of rounds. A round consists of two cards and a mathematical operator (add, subtract, or multiplication). The first player to guess an answer for a round gets that rounds point if the guess is correct. Otherwise, the correct answer is displayed, and no points are awarded.
My daughter has since outgrown games such has this. However, I hope your children find MathWar to be fun. If you have any problems with MathWar, or would like to make some suggestions, please e-mail me.
