Tor/Mightor

Tools and weapons: Club which, when lifted and accompanied by a cry of "Mightor" turns Tor into the superhero; the club also fires "force rays" and is impervious to both fire and quicksand.

MIGHTOR'S HISTORY

2.1 What is Mightor's origin?

While on a hunting trip, Tor and his faithful companion Tog rescue an ancient hermit from a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Grateful the old man gives Tor a club which possesses great powers. Tor raises the club and he becomes Mightor a great warrior who could fly, had great strength, and his club could fire "force rays". His dinosaur Tog is transferred into a fire-breathing dragon. Together they become champions of good and the nemesis of evil. Mightor!!!

Space Ghost is an interplanetary police officer who is stationed on the Ghost Planet. He has incredible powers from his costume and his power bands. Space Ghost, Jace, Jan, and Blip assisted the herculoids on two occasions.

3.1.6 Jace

Jace is Space Ghost's young ward. He wears a costume of light blue and yellow with a black facemask. Jace looks to be about 15-17 years old. Jace has a jetpack to fly, a belt that gives him inviso power, and an emblem of Space Ghost on his chest that is used for a communications device.

THE 1967 CARTOON SHOW

4.1 What was the show about?

The show was about Mighty Mightor a teenager who received great power after helping an old hermit. Mightor had a power club that fired energy bolts and allowed him to fly.

4.2 When did the show premiere and how long did it last?

The show Premiered on CBS Saturday, September 9, 1967 and ended on Saturday, September 6, 1969.

There was a total of thirty-six episodes of Mighty Mightor.

The Monster Keeper
Korg warns Pondo, chief of the cave people, that he will release his monstrous animals upon the village and destroy their homes and inhabitantas, if he is not made chief of the village. Mightor overpowers the evil Korg and imprisons him on an island so he can no longer harm innocent cave people.

The People Keepers
Giant insects gain control of a village and all its people, but are then overpowered by Mightor. The villagers, again in control of their village, thank Mightor for his help.

Mighty Mightor meets Tyrannor
Mightor accepts a challenge against Grok's champion, Tyrannor. Mightor defeats Tyrannor and Grok, making the jungle again safe for the gentle cave people.

Brutor the Barbarian
Brutor, with his army of creatures, is determined to destroy those who oppose him and enslave all others, until his is met in battle by Mightor. When Brutor ignores Mightor's warning to return to his own land in peace the fire mountain erupts and a stream of lave engulfs the barbarian Brutor, destroying him. His army of creatures turn cowardly without their leader, and leave peacefully.

The Bird People
Sheera is captured by the Bird People and taken to their village to be sacrificed to the alva pit. Mightor resuces her by overpowering the leader of the Bird People, then using his body as a jackhammer, Mightor rips the top off a mountain peak, and uses it to seal the lava pit forever.

Kragor and the Cavern Creatures
Kragor and the Cavern Creatures kidnap Lil Rok and Sheera. Mightor follows their trail, and rescues his friends and imprisons the evil Kragor and his followers deep inside their cave hide-out by creating a mighty landslide.

The Tiger Men
The Tiger Men find their match in Mightor when he turns their Tiger God into a pussycat and destroys their evil arena so there will be no more bloody sacrifices.

Return of Korg
The evil Korg returns and captures Sheera to use as bait to trap Mightor. Mightor rescues Sheera and defeats Korg in battle.

The Tusk People
Mightor banishes the war-loving leader of the Tusk Peopole, Fangor, when he tries to lead the Tusk People to war against the peaceful cavemen. The Tusk People are then to follow peaceful instincts.

The Snow Trapper
Much to his chagrin, Lil Rok discovers the legend of the Snow Trappers is not a legend. Mightor must again bail him out by defeating the Snow Trappers.

The Giant Hunters
The Giant Hunters return to destroy all in their path. Mightor uses all his strength to overpower them and forces them to rebuild the villages they have destroyed.

The Serpent Queen
Sheera, captured by the Serpent Queen's creatures, is taken to the Queen, who orders Sheera to be thrown to the Serpent of the Pool. Mightor arrives and hurls the Serpent deep into the depths of the pool. The Queen follows her serpent rather than surrender.

The Tree Pygmies
Tor loses his magic club when he is captured by the Tree Pygmies and is unable to change into Mightor. Tog eludes the villains and gets the magic club to Tor just as he is to be fed to a pteranodon. Tor, changing into the Mighty Mightor, throws the evil reptile into the land of the swamp mists. The Tree Pygmies, knowing they have no chance of survival without their flying reptile, follow him into the swamp.

Charr and The Fire People
Lil Rok, Sheera, and Tor seek shelter in a cave during an electrical storm, which causes a cave-in and traps them. Seeking another way out, they enter the forbidden, Valley of Volcanos, and Lil Rok and Sheera are imprisoned by Charr and the Fire People. Tor, changing to the Mighty Mightor, rescues them and traps the wicked Charr and the Fire People in their valley with a sea of lava.

The Stone Men
Mightor rescues Sheera from the Stone Men, then destroys the giant stone dragon, for which they receive their power. Rogg and his Stone Men flee for their lives and never return.

The Scorpion Men
Lil Rok and Ork, while exploring an unknown part of the jungle, enter the forbidden Temple of the Scorpion and are taken prisoner by Skorpa, leader of the Scorpion People. Sheera, searching for the lost Lil Rok, discovers the temple and is also taken prisoner. Mighty Mightor overpowers the giant scorpions and uses his club's heat ray to make a wall of flame between the fierce Scorpion Men, and their captives; enabling the trio to escape.

Vampire Island
Lil Rok and Sheera become trapped on Vampire Island and chased by the Vampire Men. Mightor, fearing harm has come to his friends, finds them on the island and rescues them. He then creates a gaint tidal wave which destroys Vampire Island and all its evil inhabitants.

Revenge of the Serpent Queen
The Serpent Queen and her army of Gill Men return to seek revenge on the Cave People, and capture Ork and Lil Rok. Mightor comes to their rescue, destroying the Serpent Queen, and her evil power.

The Vulture Men
Vultar, leader of the Vulture Men, captures Lil Rok and threatens to kill him unless Mightor surrenders and allows himself to be imprisoned inside the giant stone idol of the Vulture Men. Lil Rok escapes and Mightor, realizing his is safe, flexes his muscles, snaps his bonds, and destroys the stone idol. Mightor then throws Vultar and his Vulture Men into the giant mountain, creating a huge pile of stone where the mountain once stood.

Attack of the Ice Creatures
Gorr and his followers move a giant glacier to the low lands, planning to make it their frozen domain. Mightor, putting an end to their chilly plans, uses lava to melt the glacier. This frightens Gorr, who then reverses the path of the glacier to return to the icy lands.

Cult of the Cavebearers
The Cave Bears capture Sheera and take her to their leader, who prepares her for sacrifice to the idol of the Great Bear God. Mightor follows their trail, imprisons the Cave Bear's leader inside the head of the idol and his giant bears in their cave using molten lava to fuse the bars to the entrance.

Tribe of the Witchmen
The Witchmen, a fierce tribe of cave men who worshiop the idol Gorga, as their ruler, kidnap Sheera to make her Gorga's Bride. Mightor intervenes, defeats the Witchmen and Gorga, and returns Sheera to her village.

Rok and His Gang
Rok and His Gang decide to explore the Black Gorge to prove their bravery. Mightor ends up rescuing them from a sea creature and river pygmies. Mightor stops their raft from going over the falls to sure disaster, then escorts Rok and His Gang back to the village safely.

A Big Day for Little Rok
Lil Rok decides to prove his courage to the village by stealing an egg from the giant bird's nest, then capturing the newly-hatched young of the giant turtles. Mightor follows, and finally reaches Lil Rok as he slips into a bog and disappears under water. Mightor then takes the wet, foolhardy young man back to his sister, Sheera, and safety.

The Sea Slavers
When Numo and his Sea Slavers capture Sheera and the women of the village on one of their raids, Mightor follows the slave ships to their hideout on a secret island which is guarded by a giant sea beast. Mightor creates a giant whirpool with his club, and the sea beast is sucked into the vortex of the whirlpool. Mightor then destroys the slave ships, throws Numo and his Sea Slavers overboard, and rescues Sheera and the village women.

Vengeance of the Storm King
The maniacal Storm King returns to seek vengeance on Mightor, not caring if he, himself is destroyed in the process. During the fierce battle, the Storm King is killed when the glowing boulder he releases from a wooden catapult is caught by Mightor and hurled back towards the Storm King's escape route, crushing the demented villain, and creating a huge crater.

The Plant People
Tor, Lil Rok, Teena, Sheera, Ork, and Bolo are captured by Kortu and his Plant Creatures. Evil Kortu informs the prisoners that one of them must face the ordeal of the plants, and, if he survives, all will go free. Tor accepts the challenge and, with his magic club, becomes Mightor, who burrows deeply into the ground and rolls the plants tightly into the earth, destroying them. Mightor then returns to Kortu's cave, ties he and his Planet Men up in vines, and releases his friends.

The Return of the Vulture Men
Vultra an dthe Vulture Men return to destroy Mightor's village as retaliation for Mightor's victory over them. A decoy group is sent to lure Mightor from the village, but Mightor, sensing the plot, returns to the village in time and sends Vultar down the river.

Rok to the Rescue
Lil Rok impersonates Mightor in order to assist Norg of the Hill People, whose village has been attacked by Kragor and his Cavern Creatures. Mightor, aware of Rok's dangerous impersonation, follows and imprisons Kragor in the Caverns by sealing the entrance with a giant boulder.

The Mightiest Warrior
A tribe of cavemen believe Lil Rok is their Great Horned God who has come to life in time to defend them from the great white terror, a giant white tyrannosaurus. Mightor believing Lil Rok to be in danger, arrives in time to protect the little warrior by hurling the great white terror back to his home in the Valley of the Giant-Beasts.

The Battle of the Mountain Monsters
The elderly chief of the Mountain Giants announces to his tribe that the new chief will be the warrior who is able to kill Mightor. Gorg and Brog travel to Mightor's village and challenge him, but Mightor easily defeats each of them by hurling them from his villaige with his super strength.

Dinosaur Island
Lil Rok and Ork, wearing their Mightor headgear, journey to Dinosaur Island to be the first from their village to capture a dinosaur. While on the island, the foolhardy pair become prisoners of the Cave Raiders. Mightor rescues Lil Rok and Ork and imprisons the Cave Raiders in their cave, then relocates Dinosaur Island, far from the peaceful village.

The Greatest Escape
During a severe electrical storm, Lil Rok and Ork lose their way and are captured by fierce Insect Cavemen bent on having a dinner of roast Lil Rok and Ork. Mightor comes to the rescue, capturing the Insect Cavemen in a butterfly net and sealing them deep within their cave.

Rok and the Golden Rok
Lil Rok discovers a golden rock, left by the evil Grok, which enables him to command all creatures. Grok comes back to locate his magical golden rock and threatens Lil Rok unless it is returned. Mightor intervenes and Lil Rok is again safe, with Grok a prisoner in a golden cavern.

Battle of the Mightors
Ogar, posing as Mightor, imprisons the chiefs of the villages to become the ruler of the jungle. A fierce battle erupts between the false Mightor and the true hero, and the jungle becomes safe once more when our great Mightor hurls Ogar into space on his flying lizard.

The Missing Village
Mightor defeats Rogg and his Stonemen, and rescues a village of Valley People kidnapped and fated to become slaves of the bandit warriors.
