The Story of the Space Spectre Figurine.

I received an email from Frank Supiot on September 21, 2001.

This is the letter.
Hi Chip, My name is Frank Supiot and I work for Diamond Comic Distributors. I have been in communication with Yamato/Toycom, the manufacturers of the Space Ghost action figure, and they are now (after many hours of prodding) going to release figures of Brak, Zorak, & Moltar. I am attempting to get the company to make a figure for Diamond to distribute on the exclusive basis, and I need your help in getting an image of this character to show the manufacturer. Please keep this as confidential information, and do not post it on your site. I am looking to get a Space Spectre figure made. Do you have a full body image or screen capture of Space Spectre you can email me? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, FRANK SUPIOT Brand Manager Diamond Comic Distributors Purchasing Department 1966 Greenspring Drive Timonium, MD 21093

I then sent Mr. Supiot several pictures of Space Spectre from the episode of 1981.

I received this letter on October 15, 2001.
Thanks a ton...hopefully these images will help to get the toy made! Thanks again, Frank

I then received this letter on November 6, 2001.
Hi Chip, Attached is an image of the Space Spectre action figure. This is just a ďmock upĒ that was prepared to present to Warner Bros. Please do not circulate this image, and please do not post on the internet. Iím sending it to you since you were cool enough to send me the reference art (so Iím sure your cool enough to keep this pic to yourself). Thanks again for your help with the art. Thank you, FRANK SUPIOT Brand Manager

This is the "mock up" figure that Frank sent.

I then sent Frank an email on November 9, 2002 asking if he could get me one of the figures for helping him out.

This was his response.
Hi Chip, This figure is not only outÖ.it is SOLD OUT. It was released back in May. I donít even have a figure myself, but I will keep an eye out for one. Thank you, FRANK SUPIOT Brand Manager

I then bought one off of ebay for $10.00

As far as I know this is the only way you can get one.

There you have it the "true" story of the Space Spectre Figurine. Released in May 2002.
