SWEET ONION PEGGERS
Grand Slam's
9 games played and 9 games
won!!

- Jim Corn (L) our very First Grand Slam Winner is presented with his ACC
Certificate, pin and a certificate from the Sweet Onion Peggers by our director
Jim Duff. On 10-4-2001 Jim played 9 games and won' em all!!
- The Second Grand Slam Winner Ms "Lethal"
Lisa Duff. Lisa accomplished this goal on
12-6- 2001. She was awarded her Grass Roots Pin and Certificate as well as a Sweet
Onion Peggers Certificate by Director (and husband) Jim Duff.
- The Third Grand Slam was a repeat by Jim
"Cagey" Corn. Yep he whipped nine in a row once more on 1-10-2002. Seems once Jim is on a streak he simply win's all the games!!
- The Fourth Grand Slam was done on the same night
as the Fifth one!! On 1-31-2002 Brad Taylor won all 9 of his
games at the same time Jim "The Teacher" Duff was winning all 9 of
his. Just a few measly spread points made the difference in this
"Clash of the Titans". Brad came in with the Fourth Grand Slam
and Jim got the Fifth.
- The Sixth Grand Slam was won by Mike Widner on
10-24-2002. Mike moved to Idaho shortly after accomplishing this feat.
- The Seventh Grand Slam was turned in by or re-curing
Club Champion "SAWEEET" John Hensley on 5-22-2003. A fitting
end to a fine year for John.
- The Eighth Grand Slam was accomplished on
11-06-2003 by the same guy that copped the Fourth one. Brad Taylor once again
got all nine wins. It seems like a pattern here so I guess Brad will take
the 12th GS when that one comes round!
- The Ninth Grand Slam was accomplished on 3-10-2005 by the same guy
that had the Fifth one, Jim "Teacher" Duff!! Definite pattern here with 3 of the members
having had 6 out of the 8 Grand Slams. Though it's been a long time
between GS almost a One and a half YEARS since the last one.
So you can see that this little bit of cribbage accomplishment is not so easy to
do.
- The Tenth Grand Slam was two years in the making and turned in by
Dick "The Grumbler" Taylor on 1-18-07. Dick outplayed
all of his opponents include a couple of close games where he squeaked out
the win by 3 points and 5 points. Keeping with the pattern, for those
that don't know, Dick is Brad Taylor's father, Brad has two grand slams out
of the ten..... Congrats!
