The legacy and list of the Club Champions of the Sweet Onion Peggers is not yet long but it certainly is filled with the names of the best players of the game!  Congratulations to one and all for attaining the titles!

First champion was Ms Betty Morehouse, AKA "Bad Betty" .  Took the initial season titles and ran away from all contenders.  She was always gracious and apologized profusely every time she would whip you!!

Our one and so far only Summer Champion is Mr. Jim Duff.  In the summer season nothing counts as Grass Roots is in season only from 1 September to 31 May. But we did play and counted all scores.  When the dust cleared Jim was the last man standing.  The club has since ceased to play in the summer.

Second title went to Mr. John Hensley, AKA "Saweeet ".  When John got into the swing of things he managed to eke out this win by a very few points over the club director Mr. Jim Duff.  Both players and Ms Shirley Guest got an invite to Reno to play the Tournament of Champions.

Third year title once again went to Mr. John Hensley.  John made a continuation of the run he started in year two and no one was close this time round.

Fourth year title went to Mr. David Bosley, AKA "Da Boz".  Just like John Hensley (only way higher in point total) Da Boz had a spectacular year.  He finished so far ahead of 2nd place it was a yawn from December to May as to first place at least.  Dave managed to come in tied for 10th place nationally in Grass Roots Division 1.  There are about 3,200 registered players in the division so we are all very proud that Dave could finish so well.

Fifth year title went to none other than "Saweet" John Hensley!!  Yep he struggled and fought for his 3rd title by overcoming long odds and many pones.  John did not take over the lead until the posting of the GR National Tournament points.  The points won there pushed him over the top of Carl "The Wizard" Schaefer.  The person with the lead the longest was John "Rotten" Reed but his cards took a hike long about March and he was bypassed finishing the year in 5th place.

Sixth year title went to David "Da Boz" Bosley!  David started the year off hot and cooled off and waited up for the other players down the stretch.  It came down to the last game of the last night for the club championship.  The game was basically for the club championship because Jim "Teacher" Duff had 11 points and Boz had 12 points heading into that game.  If Jim won he would win the championship (because only first through third place got points tonight).  If Jim skunked Boz then Jim would outright win the championship.  If Boz won then Jim could not catch him...the cards did not fall in Jim's favor and Boz won by 14 points.  None the less, you couldn't ask for more drama in the last game of the night on the last club night for the year!   Good job David!
