Ms. Sweety didn’t
see too many companions tonight. She
started off the evening by visiting Wayne “Super Trooper” Von Clasen in
Game 1 and helped him edge out his opponent “Bad” Betty Morehouse by 2
points! Shirley “Buzz Saw” Guest
was the next person to hold onto a 24 in Game 3. Pat “Driller” Jungmann didn’t let Shirley celebrate too
long before he declared 24 in Game 4 to sqeak out a victory over Dewayne
“Big E” Eisenbarth by 3 points. At
the end of the night, Ms. Sweety headed in the direction of John “Saweet” Hensley
in Game 8…he beat Dewayne. Sounds like
a good night to play Dewayne, he was the opponent in 2 of the 4 games that had
a 24. John earned $14 for his skill
cards!
EVENT HAPPENINGS
First
was “Trooper” Tom Varnell who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 7 W, +60
Sprd Pts card tonight. Tom had an
eventful night ranging from getting skunked in the 2nd game of the
night to beating John “Saweet” Henley by 2 points in the 3rd
game of the night. Little did they know
that the 3rd game of the night would ultimately determine 1st
and 2nd place later in the evening.
After losing the 2nd game of the night, Tom went on to win 6
of the last 7 games of the night to end up at 14 points. Only the number of wins…..7 vs. 6 separated
Tom from the rest of the pack. Good job
Tom!
Second was John “Saweet”
Hensley who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 6 W, +124 Sprd Pts card. John
continues to make up a lot of ground in the points race and is hot in January,
he has been either first or second in the past two weeks. On the pegging end of things, John got off
to a slow start tonight by losing 2 of 3 to start the evening. He quickly turned things around by winning 3
straigh games including a skunk against Jim “Teacher” Duff in Game
6. John faultered against Dick “Grumbler”
Taylor in Game 7 but finished on a high note be winning the last two games
of the night. He skunked is last
opponent to record a 14 point 6 win card.
Good job John, you are 1 point from 1st Place!
Third was “Bad”
Betty Morehouse who turned in a 13 Gm Pt, 6 W, +92 Sprd Pts card. Betty has also been on a role in
January. She followed her 2nd
Place finish last week with a 3rd
Place finish this week. She started the
night with two losses in a row including a 2 point loss to Wayne “Super
Trooper” Von Clasen in the opening game.
Not being one to give up, Betty put together a 5 game win streak
including a skunk over Pat “Driller” Jungmann in Game 6. She lost Game 8 to “Trooper” Tom Varnell
but pulled out a win in the last game to finish in 3rd. Betty beat her opponents by an average of
22.5 points in each of her 6 wins! Good
job Betty, keep up the good peggin’!
Fourth was Shirley “Buzz Saw” Guest who turned in a 13 Gm Pt, 6 W, +72
Sprd Pts card. Shirley was back in form
tonight and won in impressive fashion.
She too beat 6 opponents by an average of 22 points. She started the evening off good by winning
5 of the first 6 games including a skunk over Wayne “Super Trooper” Von
Clasen in Game 6. She finished on a
sour note by losing 2 of the last 3 games.
Good job Shirley!
