Ms. Sweety
took it easy tonight by only moving different times. She visited Martin “Ole #1” Hellberg in the 2nd
game and helped him secure the win. She
didn’t move again until the 7th game when she visited Zeke “Da
Zapa” Blocklinger, unfortunately she didn’t help Zeke win the game. She then quickly moved to pay a visit to Dewayne
“Big E” Eisenbarth in the 8th game and helped him squeak out a 1
point victory. Apparently she didn’t
like Dewayne’s company and jumped ship to find “Trooper” Tom Varnell
later in the 8th game but she didn’t help Tom secure the win…. Tom walked away with $18 at the end of the
night for his skill cards.
EVENT HAPPENINGS
First
was Dick “The Grumbler” Taylor who turned in a 19 Gm Pt, 9 W,
+141 Sprd Pts card tonight. Congratulations
Dick on a perfectly played evening!
Dick started off strong and finished strong. The only shaking part of the night was in Games 7 & 8 where
he edges out his opponents by 3 and 5 points respectively. All other wins were by 10 or more points
including a skunk in Game 6 against Helen “The Hellion” Daniels. Good job Dick!
Second was “Bad” Betty
Morehouse who turned in a 16 Gm Pt, 7 W, +66 Sprd Pts card. Betty
continues to be on a role in January.
She has finished 2nd, 3rd, and 2nd in
the last three weeks. Ordinarily a 16
point card would be good enough for 1st but she had a grand slam in
front of her. Betty edged out her opponents in the first two games of the
night by 3 points and 1 point respectively.
She then skunked her third opponent and was sitting at 7 points after 3
games. The cribbage gods decided to
throw her a curve ball and she lost the next game. Not one to give up, Betty won 4 of 5 to finish the night
including a skunk in Game 6. Good job
Betty!
Third was Pat “Driller”
Jungmann who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 7 W, +86 Sprd Pts card. Pat continues to play very well each week
and extended his club point total to 111 which is tops in the club so far. Pat started off with a 3 point win but
couldn’t hang on for a win in the 2nd game of the night against Dick
“The Grumbler” Taylor. Pat put
together a 4 game win streak where he beat his opponents by an average 22
points. He didn’t stretch the win
streak to 5….he was skunked by “Easy” Ed Baustian in Game 7. Pat finished strong with back to back wins
in the last games of the night. Good
job Pat!
Fourth was Marin “Ole #1” Hellberg who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 7 W, +41 Sprd
Pts card. Martin was on a role at the
start of the evening, he put together an impressive 5 game win streak. He then came up against “Bad” Betty
Morehouse who lived up to her nickname by skunking Martin. He couldn’t out peg Dick “The Grumbler”
Taylor in Game 7. He did finish
strong with wins in Game 8 & 9 to end the night. Good job Martin!
Fifth was “Easy” Ed
Baustian who turned in a 13 Gm Pt, 6 W, +32 Sprd Pts card. Ed had an up and down king of night, just
when he thought he was on a role he would lose a game. He started by winning two straight but then
was skunked by “Bad” Betty Morehouse in Game 3. He bounced back to won two straight to only lose Game 6 to
Shirley “Buzz Saw” Guest. He rebounded
by skunking his next opponent and then pulling out a 1 point victory in Game
8. Based on the pattern, you have
already guessed that he lost the last game of the night…..none the less a 13
point card is petty good! Good job Ed!
