Ms. Sweety had a slow night....she only moved around 3 times. J.R. "The Spoiler" Cast held onto a 24 in Game 2 against Wayne "Super Trooper" Von Clasen. "Easy" Ed Baustian stole Ms. Sweety from J.R. in Game 5 while playing John "Saweet" Hensley. "Devil" Dean Van Donge was the last person spotted with Ms. Sweety after declaring a 24 in Game 8 while playing Wayne "Super Trooper" Von Clasen. Maybe we should change Wayne's nickname to Wayne "Deals a lot of 24's" Von Clasen. For Dean's skill he went home with an extra $16 at the end of the evening.
EVENT HAPPENINGS
First was
Jim "Teacher" Duff who turned in a 15 Gm Pt, 7 W, +95 Sprd Pts card.
Jim had a good run of cards and skill
tonight! He pretty much had his way with all opponents. He had a few
blemishes on his card including a 2 point loss to Shirley "Buzz Saw" Guest
in Game 5. He went on to wind the next 3 games but lost another close
game in Game 9 against Jeremy "The Cat" Morris. Jim looked like he
was going to win the game with the deal and only 8 points to go. Jeremy's
delt the cards and was very stingy on giving up any pegging points. Jim
counted and wound up 4 points short. None the less, Jim took top honors
tonight....good job Jim!
Second was "Trooper" Tom Varnell who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 7 W, +26 Sprd Pts card. After the first 3 games Tom was sitting at 1 win and 2 losses. Not one to give up, he motivated himself to go on to win the next 6 games in a row to slide into 2nd place on the evening. He had a close win over fellow Alaskan trooper Wayne "Super Trooper" Von Clasen in Game 6 by a mere 2 points.....I don't think Wayne is going to send Tom a Christmas card this year! Good job Tom!
Third was Shirley "Buzz Saw" Guest who
turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 6 W, +90 Sprd Pts
card. Shirley was on fire tonight.....in the first 7 games. She won
6 straight games to start the evening including 2 skunks. The first skunk
occurred in her first game against Wayne "Super Trooper" Von Clasen, her
last skunk was in Game 6 against Jeremy "The Cat" Morris. She had
an amazing 14 game points after the first 6 games! The cribbage gods took
it upon themselves to turn Shirley's night around....she lost the last 3 games
of the night. Good job Shirley....next time ignore the cribbage gods and
win the last 3 games!
Fourth
was
"Devil" Dean Von Donge who turned in a 12
Gm Pt, 6 W, +20 Sprd Pts card. Dean put together a pretty good card
tonight. Out of the box he won the first 4 games.....then the cribbage
gods got involved. He lost Games 5, 6, & 7 in the middle of the evening
before the cribbage gods left to heckle Shirley for a while! He finished
the evening strong with 2 wins and wound up in 4th place and holding Ms. Sweety
at the same time! Good job Dean!
HONORABLE MENTION
Wayne "Super Trooper" Van Clasen narrowly missed a string of pearls by winning his last game of the night against John "Rotten" Reed.....needless to say the cards were not in Wayne's favor tonight.
