20 Players came out to play cribbage tonight....this is the most yet this season!  John "Saweet" Hensley decided to get into the points race by winning top honors tonight!  Gene Daniels (Guest) edged out Jim "Teacher" Duff for 2nd Place.  John "Rotten" Reed and "Lethal" Lisa Duff rounded out 4th and 5th places on the evening.

 Winners
 from Last Week's Event

1st Place John "Saweet" Hensley 15 pt, 7 wins,  93 Net Spread, and 133 Positive Spread $65.00
2nd Place Gene Daniels $47.00
3rd Place Jim Duff $28.00
4th Place John Reed $20.00
5th Place Lisa Duff $15.00

Ms. Sweety jumped around quite a bit tonight.  Zeke "Da Zapa" Blocklinger was feeling well enough to play tonight, he was also feeling well enough to declare a 24 against Gene Daniels (Guest) in Game 3!    Zeke's glory didn't last long thanks to Carl "Wizard" Schaefer who scored his 24 in Game 4.....just to have it passed Helen "Hellion" Daniels direction a few moments later in her 3rd Game.  David "Da Boz" Bosley didn't want to be on the outside looking in so he took matters into his own hands and declared 24 in Game 5.  Ms. Sweety liked David's company for a few games.....but ultimately had to leave David to be with "Devil" Dean Van Donge in Game 9.  This is the second week in a row that Dean has ended up with Ms. Sweety at the end of the evening...for his ability to count to 24 Dean took home $20!

EVENT HAPPENINGS

First
was John "Saweet" Hensley who turned in a 15 Gm Pt, 7 W, +93 Sprd Pts card. tonight.  John was off and running from Game 1.....and didn't stop to look back.  He put together a nice 7 game win streak to start the evening, including a Game 4 skunk against his good friend Martin "Ole #1" Hellberg.  I am guessing that Martin is rethinking their friendship.....  John ran into a tough guys for the last two games of the evening.  He lost Game 8 against John "Rotten" Reed and Game 9 against "Easy" Ed Baustian.  None the less, John turned in a 15 point card for top honors tonight.  Good job John!

Second was Gene Daniels who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 7 W, +28 Sprd Pts card.  Gene got off to a rough start in the first 4 games of the evening with 2 wins and 2 losses.  Gene turned things around by beating his next two opponents by 1 point each!  Gene went on to win the last games of the night to finish in 2nd Place on the evening.  Good job Gene!

Third was Jim "Teacher" Duff who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 6 W, +75 Sprd Pts card.  Jim was on fire to start with but just couldn't squeak out another win to get the top spot.  He won 6 of the first 7 games of the night including two skunks in Games 6 & 7.  His only loss coming at the hand of "Bad" Betty Morehouse in Game 3.  Jim was sitting at 14 points going in to Game 8 but "Big" Willie Evans (Guest) showed Jim where to put a zero....  Gib Tomlinson handed Jim a loss in Game 9 by a close 4 points.  None the less a 14 point 6 win card is not a bad card....good job Jim!

Fourth was John "Rotten" Reed who turned in a 13 Gm Pt, 6 W, +65 Sprd Pts card.  John started out a little rough with an opening game loss.  He put together a 4 game win streak including a skunk in Game 3 only to be on the receiving end of two losses in a row in Games 6 & 7.  John faced two good pegger's in the final game and prevailed against both John "Saweet" Hensley and Helen "Hellion" Daniels. Good job John!

Fifth was "Lethal" Lisa Duff who turned in a 12 Gm Pt, 6 W, +10 Sprd Pts card.  Lisa started out with an opening game loss against Carl "Wizard" Schaefer.  She turned things around with a win in Game 2 by 1 point over Kim "Poker Face" Ingersoll.  Gib Tomlinson paid Lisa back for beating Kim....he skunked Lisa in Game 5....  Lisa went on to win 3 of the last 4 games of the night to slide into 5th Place!  Good job Lisa!

HONORABLE MENTION

Kim "Poker Face" Ingersoll thought she was off to a good start by winning the first game of the night.....the cribbage god's had other plans!  She lost the last 8 games in a row including 4 skunks!  Sorry Kim....the good news is that the odds are with you for improving your card next week!
