       “Trooper” Tom Varnell captured first place this evening and moved into the top five with his 15 Pt. 6 W 144 Spread card. John “Rotten” Reed increased his first place points lead finishing in second place with a 14 Pt. 7 W 70 Spread card. J.R. “The Spoiler” Cast grabbed the last points place by coming in third with a 13 Pt. 6 W 4 Spread Card. Carl “The Wizard” Schaefer collected fourth place money but no points tonight with an 11 Pt. 5 W 76 Spread card.

     "Sweety" was still getting some exercise this evening but visited only three different persons. She started the evening with “Trooper” Tom Varnell in his first game. That lasted until Shirley “Buzz Saw” Guest claimed her in her game four but not for long as “Trooper” Tom Varnell snatched her back is his game five. Along came Jeanette Cast in her game seven and took her and managed to keep her for the rest of the evening to collect the $14.00 for the last 24 Hand Pot.

 

EVENT HAPPENINGS 

 

       “Trooper” Tom Varnell starting off tonight skunking “Old #1” Martin Hellberg then J.R. “The Spoiler” Cast in game five but got skunked in game seven by Susan "LittleRed" Hall then turned around and skunked Shirley "Buzz Saw" Guest and won his last one to complete his 15 Pt 6 W 144 Spread Card for first place money and move into the top five.

 

       John “Rotten” Reed added to his point total tonight finishing second by stringing together two wins in the beginning and middle of his card then three at the end to finish and complete his 14 Pt 7 W 70 Spread Card to maintain his hold on first place in club points.

 

       J.R. “The Spoiler” Cast won his first three games skunking “Captain” Jack Stemmer but lost his next two being skunked by “Trooper” Tom Varnell in his fifth game. He came back to win three more before losing his last to finish with a 13 Pt 6 W 4 Spread Card for third place money.

 

        Carl “The Wizard” Schaefer started off the night winning his first four games and skunking “Saweet Johnny” Hensley. Then he was able to win only one of his last five games to complete his 11 Pt 5 W 76 Spread Card to collect fourth place money but no points tonight.

SPECIAL POOLS

 

            No one found the 23 Hand tonight which leaves it as the only special hand still available for next week’s session.

 

 

  28/29 POOL

 

           Two persons tried unsuccessfully to drain the pool tonight. Susan “Little Red” Hall tried with a 10 and three 5’s but came up short with just a 2 in her game one. Jeanette Cast tried a little later with a J and three 5's but came up short with a 7 cut. The pool is capped at $511.00.

 

 Skunk Fund

 

             The skunk fund was more prosperous tonight. It received $2.75 by the end of the evening. WE STILL THANK ALL OF YOU!!
