1st Place John "Saweet" Hensley 15 pt, 7 wins, 102 Net Spread, and 122 Positive Spread $50.00
2nd Place Dick Taylor $35.00
3rd Place Tom Varnell $23.00
4th Place Wayne Von Clasen $15.00

Surprisingly Ms. Sweety still had energy after moving around 9 times last week.....she changed hands 6 times this week.  David "Da Boz" Bosley wasted no time and declared 24 in the 1st Game....unfortunately David didn't get the victory.  Helen "The Hellion" Daniels held onto a 24 in game 3.  "Super Trooper" Wayne Von Clasen counted a 24 in Game 4 and almost skunked his opponent.  Zeke "Da Zapa" Blocklinger picked up a 24 with a good cut in Game 6 and needed every point to beat Wayne by 3 points!  Dewayne "Big E" Eisenbarth was on the receiving end of a 24 in Game 7......but Helen didn't let him win!  With a 4 point score card, Dewayne was hoping to finish with some cash at the end of the evening by taking home Ms. Sweety.  Mike "Mr. Quizno's" Clapper didn't even let Dewayne hold her for a game when he counted the last 24 of the night in Game 7.  For Mike's efforts he took home 14 at the end of the evening.

EVENT HAPPENINGS

First
was John "Saweet" Hensley who turned in a 15 Gm Pt, 7 W, +102 Sprd Pts card tonight.  John put together a 4 game win streak to start the night.  Current club Champion David "Da Boz" Bosley probably walked away with a big smile after beating John in Game 5.  John was apparently mad and turned around and skunked Jo Sine in Game 6.  Back on track, John let his guard down and John "Rotten" Reed got the best of him in Game 7.  "Saweet" went on to win the last two game of the night to finish strong.  Good job John, keep up the good peggin!

Second was Dick "The Grumbler" Taylor who turned in a 13 Gm Pt, 6 W, +81 Sprd Pts card.  Dick showed up to play tonight, he started off by wining his two games straight including a skunk in Game 2 over Helen "The Hellion" Daniels.  He lost a close game to Zeke "Da Zapa" Blocklinger but turned around and pulled off a 1 point win over Martin "Ole #1" HellbergMike "Mr. Quizno's" Clapper poured on the peggin' in Game 5 and cruised to a victory.  Dick went on to win 3 of the last 4 games and nearly wining all 4 games but lost by 4 points to Pat "Driller" Jungmann in Game 8.  Good job Dick, good to see you back in action!

Third was "Trooper" Tom Varnell who turned in a 13 Gm Pt, 6 W, +57 Sprd Pts card.  Tom narrowly missed 2nd place by a 24 spread points.  He started off strong by wining 4 of 5 to start including a skunk over Helen "The Hellion" Daniels.  The downside is that he was almost skunked in Game 2 which didn't help his spread points.  He then lost two straight by an average of 22 which put him almost back at 0 spread points on the night.  Tom finished strong to win the last two games and almost skunked "Super Trooper" Wayne Von Clasen (30 points) which would have jumped him into 2nd place.  Good job Tom!

Fourth was "Super Trooper" Wayne Von Clasen who turned in a 12 Gm Pt, 5 W, +84 Sprd Pts card.  Wayne started off hot by wining the first 4 games including two skunks in the first and second games of the night.  After 4 games Wayne already had 10 points!  The cribbage gods were apparently just teasing Wayne and decided to humble him.....He lost the next three games by an average of 4 points each!  He stopped the 3 game slide by wining Game 8 but slipped again in Game 9 by almost getting skunked "Trooper" Tom Varnell.  Good job Wayne, keep  up the hard work!

HONORABLE MENTION

Helen "The Hellion" Daniels turned in a 12 point, 6 win card tonight with -17 spread points.  Due to a mix up Helen didn't receive 4th place honors....she actually had more wins than Wayne which is the second category in ranking a players card.  Due to the mix up Helen will receive $15 which would have been equal to the 4th place payout.  The good news is that Helen and Wayne both received 12 Grass Root Points for their efforts.

Although John "Rotten" Reed would want to forget about his near string of pearls......I will take the time to remind him!  John had a rough night and lost the first 6 games of the night.  He pulled out a close victory in Game 7 over John "Saweet" Hensley.  His win streak would end at one game....he lost the last two games.  In John's defense most of the games were very close.  He lost 4 of the games by 5 points or less!

2nd Place John Hensley 66

GRASS ROOTS TOURNAMENT - HERMISTON

Our club represented itself well in the Grass Roots Tournament in Hermiston.  Wayne "Super Trooper" Von Clasen pegged his way to first place in the afternoon and 6th overall with 24 points.  John "Saweet" Hensley finished with 24 points and 7th in the afternoon.  Jim "Teacher" Duff  had 21 points and finished 6th in the morning.  Other pegger's made the trip and played well also!

SPECIAL POOLS

No reported special pools tonight, Raggedy Andy is the only special pool that is open.

28/29 POOL

Lots of 28 draws tonight....Zeke "Da Zapa" Blocklinger had three 5's and a 10 in Game 3 and cut a 2.  Martin "Ole #1" Hellberg held three 5's and a Queen and cut a 6.  John "Saweet" Hensley held a Jack with three 5's and cut a King.  Jim "Teacher" Duff held three 5's and a Queen and cut a 8.  The 28/29 pool started at $369 and went up by $14 to $383.
