Ms. Sweety wanted to take it easy on the judge….so she only moved one time.  Or maybe it was because she wanted to help Jim “Teacher” Duff pay off his knee surgery costs (although $14 would buy the 30 seconds of a surgery at today’s prices)???  Ms. Sweety didn’t get started until Game 7 when Jim counted a 24 while playing Pat “Driller” Jungmann.  The 24 helped Jim edge out Pat by 1 point!  Jim walked away with $14 at the end of the night for his skill cards!

EVENT HAPPENINGS

            First
was John “Rotten” Reed who turned in a 15 Gm Pt, 7 W, +107 Sprd Pts card
tonight.  John is on a role with back-to-back 1st Place finishes in the last two weeks and finished in 2nd Place 3 weeks ago!  He has recorded 47 Grass Roots points in the last 3 weeks!  John started off hot and finished hot but had a couple of blemishes in the middle.  He won 5 straight games to start the evening including a 1-point victory over Zeke “Da Zappa” Blocklinger in Game 4.  He lost the next two games in a row but bounced back with a skunk and win over the Duff clan in Games 8 & 9 (Lisa was the skunk victim).  John averaged 18 point per victory!  Good job John, keep up the good peggin!

Second was “Bad” Betty Morehouse who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 7 W, +95 Sprd Pts card.  Betty has also been on a win streak by finishing 2nd this week and 3rd last week.  She shtarted off with a 1st Game win but then lost two in a row.  Sitting at 2 points after 3 games, Betty took matters into her own hands and won 7 straight to finish the night including a near skunk over Martin “Ole #1” Hellberg in Game 8.  She won a nail bighter of a game against Pat “Driller” Jungmann in Game 9…Betty pulled out the win by 2 points.  Good job Betty!

Third was Shirley “Buzz Saw” Guest who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 7 W, +40 Sprd Pts card.  Shirley was hitting on all cylinders tonight by winning 7 of 9.  She won 3 straight to start but then was skunked by Pat “Driller” Jungmann in Game 4.  She pulled up her boot straps and won 4 straight to have 14 points after 8 games.  She couldn’t out peg Zeke “Da Zappa” Blocklinger in Game 9 and finished on a sour note!  None the less, 14 points and 3rd Place….good job Shirley!

Fourth was Pat “Driller” Jungmann who turned in a 11 Gm Pt, 5 W, +54 Sprd Pts card.  Pat had an up and down night tonight but was able to slide into 4th.  He started with a close game win over Helen “The Hellion” Daniels in the opening game only to lose the net 2 games.  He turned things around with 3 straight wins including a skunk over Shirley “Buzz Saw” Guest in Game 4.  Just when he thought he was on the right track, Jim “Teacher” Duff plays spoiler tonight and out peggs Pat by 1 point in Game 7.  Pat then turned things up against John “Saweet” Hensley and nearly skunks him.  But then Pat came up against “Bad” Betty Morehouse who narrowly beat him by 2 points in the last game.  Pat probably thought that he was done for with an 11 point card but nobody else stepped up to claim 4th!  Good job Pat!
