EVENT HAPPENINGS

First
was Shirley "Buzz Saw" Guest who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 7 W, +36 Sprd Pts card
tonight.  Shirley started on the wrong foot by losing the first game of the night to John "Rotten" Reed by 3 points!  She decided that was not the way to start and quickly turned things around by winning three straight.  She then lost Game 5 to "Trooper" Tom Varnell.  She turned on the after burners and won the last 4 games of the night including a 1 point win over "Easy" Ed Baustian.  Good job Shirley!

Second was Pat "Driller" Jungmann who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 6 W, +72 Sprd Pts card.  Pat is on a roll, he has been in the top payout positions for the last three week!  He started with a quick win over Martin "Ole #1" Hellberg and followed that up with a skunk over "Easy" Ed Baustian.  He got skunked his next game but turned things around to skunk Dewayne "Big E" Eisenbarth.  Pat went on to win two additional games in a row but his streak ended at three against Shirley "Buzz Saw" Guest in Game 7.  He hit a bump in the road his next game also and recorded a loss.  He won the last game of the night to slip into 2nd Place.  Good job Pat!

Third was Jim "Teacher" Duff who turned in a 13 Gm Pt, 6 W, +71 Sprd Pts card.  Jim was back in good form tonight.  He got out of the box by skunking his first opponent David "Da Boz" Bosley.  He also recorded a win in Game 2 but came up short against "Trooper" Tom Varnell in Game 3.  Jim had an up and down night after that....he would win one and lose one for the rest of the night.  When the smoke cleared, he had a 13 point card that was good enough for 3rd.  Good job Jim!

Fourth was "Trooper" Tom Varnell who turned in a 12 Gm Pt, 6 W, 40 Sprd Pts card.  Tom started with a win over good friend (but not while playing cribbage) Wayne "Super Trooper" Von Clasen.  He let his guard down and Dewayne "Big E" Eisenbarth sped past him giving Tom his first loss.  Tom put together a mini-win streak with 3 straight before running into John "Rotten" Reed who lived up to his name and gave Tom his second loss of the night.  Tom won 2 of 3 to end the night and then held on to see if his 12 point card was better than the other four 12 point cards.  It was and Tom went home with cool $15 at the end of the night.  Good job Tom!
