Pat “Driller” Jungmann continues his hot play and out pegged everyone to take 1st.  John “Rotten” Reed gave it his best and came in 2nd, only separated by 11 spread points.  “Big” Willie Evans shows that he can hang with the top and finished in 3rd.  Dick “The Grumbler” Taylor puts on a skunk clinic and slipped into 4th.  “Trooper” Tom Varnell four other 13 & 12 point cards to finish in 5th.  9 of 20 players had a 12 or better tonight!

Ms. Sweety visited Jeremy “The Cat” Morris in Game 1 but wasn’t a good luck charm because it didn’t help him win!  She waited until Game 4 to move and visit “Lethal” Lisa Duff and helped Lisa secure the victory.  About 4 seconds later, Dave Braach (Visitor) declared 24 and Lisa had to pass Ms. Sweety.  She didn’t help Dave win his game either!  Last but not least, Ms. Sweety made her way to see Jim “Teacher” Duff in Game 8 and helped him beat his opponent.  Jim walked away with $20 for his efforts and skill cards.

EVENT HAPPENINGS

First
was Pat “Driller” Jungmann who turned in a 15 Gm Pt, 7 W, +117 Sprd Pts card
tonight.  Pat has been on a role this month, he has received 43 points so far in April in the club points race!  Pat was on a roll tonight, he won 6 straight to start the evening including a Game 3 skunk over John “Saweet” Hensley.  His first blemish came against Rex Paddock (Visitor) in Game 7.  He followed that game up with a win but then lost the last game of the night to Zeke “Da Zappa” Blocklinger by 2 points!  None the less, Pat edged out John “Rotten” Reed by 11 spread points to waltz away with a smile and $65 at the end of the night.  Good job Pat!

Second was John “Rotten” Reed who turned in a 15 Gm Pt, 7 W, +106 Sprd Pts card.  John too has been on a role in the last 6 weeks or so.  In order to keep ahead of Pat, John has also been racking up the points…..53 since mid-March.  John also won 6 straight to start the night including a Game 6 skunk over Dave Braach (Visitor).  John first loss came at the hand of “Big” Willie Evans (Visitor) in Game 7.  Pat and John played each other in Game 8…both had 6 wins and 1 loss.  Someone had to come away with the victory and it happened to be Pat.  John turned things around with a last game win over John “Saweet” Hensley but was edged out by 11 spread points and had to settle for 2nd.  Good job John!

Third was “Big” Willie Evans who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 7 W, +74 Sprd Pts card.  Wille started the night on the wrong foot but warmed up as the evening went on.  He opened with a Game 1 loss to Pat “Driller” Jungman by 4 points.  That was enough to get Willies blood going and he was able to out peg John “Saweet” Hensley in Game 2.  His win streak stopped there as he was skunked by “Bad” Betty Morehouse in Game 3.  He pulled up his boot straps and went on a 6 game win streak to finish the night!  This was the 3rd 6 game win streak of the night!  Good job Willie!

Fourth was Dick “The Grumbler” Taylor who turned in a 14 Gm Pt, 6 W, +94 Sprd Pts card.  Dick started the night with back to back skunks over “Lethal” Lisa Duff and Jeremy “The Cat” Morris.  He went on to win another two straight games to sit at 10 points after only 4 games!  His luck took a turn for the worse and he lost 3 straight in the middle of the night.  He turned things around and won the last two games of the night to finish with 14 points and 4th place.  Dick’s average win margin was by more than 22 points!  Good job Dick!

Fifth was “Trooper” Tom Varnell who turned in a 13 Gm Pt, 6 W, +47 Sprd Pts card.  Tom had a roller coaster ride at the beginning of the night but finished in strong fashion at the end of the night.  Tom won the opening game but couldn’t pull out the win in Game 2 against John “Rotten” Reed.  He then out pegged Zeke “Da Zappa” Blocklinger only to fall on hard times with back to back losses.  Tom had 4 points after 5 games.  He finished strong with 4 straight wins including a skunk over “Easy” Ed Baustian in Game 6 and a 1 point win over Martin “Ole #1” Hellberg in the last game of the night.  Good job Tom!

SPECIAL POOLS

The special pools were open and “Lethal” Lisa Duff was able to recognize Raggedy Ann…..she actually counted it wrong and didn’t claim it the first time she had it early in the evening.  The second time she counted it right and claimed it.  Jeremy “That Cat” Morris was able to recognize Raggedy Andy in the 5th game.  Jeremy also had Raggedy Ann later in the night but Lisa had already claimed it by then.  Both players walked away with $10 at the end of the night.  The Crib Flush, 23 hand, and Wheel are still open.

28/29 POOL

John “Rotten” Reed had a chance at 28 during Game 4.  Pat “Driller” Jungmann had a shot at a 29 but couldn’t cut the right 5.  The pool started at $293 and increased by $17 to $310.
