BSA Troop 385

Parents present: Julie S., Tammera N, Marsha O, Donna H, Steve S, Steve Str, Marion D, Bill S, Carol S, and Lois G, Sam V.

Julie called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Marsha made a motion, seconded by Steve Str to accept the January minutes as read. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report Carol reported the following

THERE IS ONE PAID OPENING FOR THE EAGLE CAVE OUTING. IF SOMEONE CAN ATTEND THAT DID NOT SIGN UP PREVIOUSLY, PLEASE CONTACT SAM.

Marsha showed and explained the digital copier and laser printer that was purchased for Scout use to be housed in the Scout room. She bought a $179 printer and a $50 gift card to be used for future needs from Office Max. After approval from the parents in attendance Ryan Oberg installed it.

Marion gave an update on the names of past Eagle Scouts and scoutmasters and assuring room for future names. Placement of the plaque was also discussed. This will be brought up again at a future meeting.

SCOUTS AND ADULT LEADERS MUST RETURN RE-CHARTER FORMS TO JULIE BY FEB. 9TH.

A motion was made by Brian to have the troop pay the re-chartering fee of all adult leaders. Seconded by Steve Stot.. Motion carried.

Sam brought a request to the committee for an adult Quartermaster to assist in managing the troops equipment and mentoring the youth quartermasters as they learn and perform their duties. An adult that could be at troop meetings especially before and after outings would be preferred. There is a need to develop a functioning check-in/out procedure.

Sam requested that adult troop positions continue to assist in mentoring the youth positions, especially Secretary/scribe, Advancement Chair/librarian, ASM's/Patrol leaders.

Calendar of Events

Feb. 8 Scout Sunday Boys who can attend the 9:00 Mass at St. John’s should

arrive 20 minutes early IN UNIFORM as a group. The troop flag will need to be brought up. The Holy Name Society will provide breakfast to attending Scouts and their families after church.
