Dear Life Scout, Congratulations! Your scouting career has taken you on a long and
wonderful journey. Take a moment and let that sink in. There are tons of
memories, some are way cool, some are of challenges you had to face, but all are
a part of the growing process in becoming a fine young man. These memories and
experiences have given you far more than you realize. The full impact of your
scout experience will take the rest of your life to fully appreciate. Where do
you think the term “Life” scout came from? You have already become a scout for life. Your journey
along the trail of scouting has brought you to the top; the peak is now in
sight. There is only one more rank to go. Keep going; you can do it. Good Luck! We will be with you all along the way. Your Life to Eagle packet, the Life to Eagle coordinator
and your Scoutmaster are your greatest resources to help you take these last
critical steps on your journey to the rank of Eagle. The process can seem
complicated and there is still much to do but we have included a checklist to
simplify the process and help you to accomplish your goal. Please note that there are some things you must do in a
specific order (your eagle service project) and there are other parts you can do
at any time and in any order (merit badges, leadership, etc.). The Life to Eagle Coordinator, Mr. Weber, will help you
with all the details of your journey. Go to him for questions and guidance in
the Life to Eagle process, the filling out of forms and applications, and to
double check that everything is in order. As Scoutmaster my job is to be a leader of leaders. You can
come to me for questions and guidance on the development, implementation, and
completion of your Eagle Service Project. I will help you develop your idea, get
it down on paper, guide your leadership of those helping you, help you manage
your resources and guide you through the step by step process to completion. The rest is up to you! It is time for you to step forward and let your light
shine. You are in the drivers seat. Take the responsibility and the risk of
leadership. There are only a few steps left to complete your quest to one of the
greatest honors America has to offer you. You have come too far to rest now. Get it done. Just do it. And we will be there to celebrate with you. Good Luck and May God bless your every effort, Sam Voight Mr. Sam Voight Scoutmaster – Troop 385 |
