| Michael Jackson Trial Recap As the verdict in the Michael Jackson case came down, proclaiming the pop star innocent of all charges, Jackson exited the courtroom stating, “I Beat It, I beat the charges.” After a lengthy public trial that saw the lawyers on both sides Working Day and Night, it has finally come to an end. Some would describe the whole ordeal as a Thriller, and some say they could have cared less about the whole thing. But with such a big star on stage for such a public trial, its Human Nature to follow along at least a little bit. Despite my lack of interest in celebrity trials, I Can’t Help It in most cases and this was no different – I followed along a little. The Jackson defense team claimed all along that the charges were Off the Wall and that Michael and the children involved were Just Good Friends. Many fans of the singer supported him and stood outside the courtroom with signs. One fan, Billie Jean, had a sign that said “We love you Michael – You Are Not Alone.” The families of the children claimed that during the visits, Jackson was Bad and that he was a Dangerous man. The children said Jackson ignored them when they said Leave Me Alone, but the pop star told them Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough when you see something you really want. The children also claimed that Jackson told them You Rock My World during many of their visits. The defense claimed it was not a matter of Black or White, and put their faith in the jury. The lawyers told the jury to look at the Man in the Mirror, and ask themselves if the evidence was solid enough to convict the King of Pop. Some would claim that Jackson was a Smooth Criminal to get off innocent on all charges. The verdict caused the prosecution to Scream when it was read. “I just felt Dirty,” Diana said, who was one of the lawyers working for the prosecution. The defense was Speechless after the verdict was read, and Jackson was heard telling the jury, “They Way You Make Me Feel is indescribable.” He claimed that he wants to return to his singing career, and asked his fans for One More Chance. Jackson’s lawyers said their case was “easy as ABC, 123.” As he left,
Jackson claimed he wanted to Cry he was so happy.
He said he now wanted to Ease on Down the Road
and to return to a life of Privacy. There is
no doubt, however, that he has proven once again that if you a big star
on trial, you are practically Invincible and
have nothing to fear. |
