Does
your telescope look like this when using a f/6.3 focal reducer ?
Are
you troubled by not having the right spacers ?

The standard 6.3 adapter and extension tube with
two inch adapter to fit 2" focuser. Total extension is 3 1/4 inches from the back of the focuser. Add to this the setback of the focuser which can be from 2.5 to 3.5 inches. This is the chief cause of back focus issues. |
The New
2" Focal Reducer Adapter Tube with
built in moveable F/6.3 focal reducer, Note zero overhang, and the FLR is placed as close to the back of the OTA as possible. There are no back focus problems with this arrangement. Shown is the non-anodized engineering version. |
NOTE: The Adapter is designed to fit all SBIG
and FLI Max-Cam cameras with filter wheel.
It
can also be used with any camera that uses other external filter wheels,
and be used with the ST-5,
the
ST-237, or any camera without a filter wheel. Vigneting is slightly
reduced with the new tube,
but
could still be a problem with larger chips. Tests show that with a ST-9
camera on a C-11 @ f/6, vigneting only
showed
in the corners and easily removed with flat fielding, stars also seemed
good to the edge.
AO-7
Users: A shortened fixed version of the Adapter Tube
is also available, that places the focal reducer
1/8 inch from the T-thread adapter on the AO-7, reducing the overhang by
almost 1 1/2 inches and moving the
optical train into the focuser draw tube by about 1 1/2 inches. This short
tube adapter is best suited to the C-11
and Meade 12".
Note: The Universal Adapter tube has been redesigned to keep the spacing
the same as the Short tube version this gives the user greater versitly.
The New Tubes are setup to accept the OPTICAL COMPONENTS from
your old 6.3 focal reducer, either
Meade
or Celestron and is completely reversible. The replacement of the optics
in the new tube is easy
and
maintains the optimum FLR spacing.
For those unwilling
to attempt the removal of the optical components from the original reducer,
we will gladly
install
them for you at no extra charge. The turn around time is about one week
for tubes in stock, and the units
are
shipped back Priority Mail.
For those that have not yet purchased a Focal Reducer we offer a complete
setup including mounted Celestron optics.
