The Web

A personal wesbite just isn't complete without a links section. This is mine.

Sites I Frequently Visit

BBC News Online
My primary source for news. I usually read the UK edition, as it's more colourful than the International Edition.

StudioBriefing
One of several entertainment news websites I read. This one is less gossipy than most, and mostly sticks to film and television, with very little music news.

E! Online
Another site I peruse for entertainment news and the occasional bit of spoilery gossip.

Sci-Fi Wire
A sci-fi/fantasy/comic book oriented entertainment news site. As my interest in such fare has waned, I seldom read this any longer.

Sinfest
A daily webcomic similar in appearance to syndicated newspaper strips, though much more grownup than anything you'll find in the funnies section of your local rag.

Fans!
A webcomic that updates on weekdays. This one is about the adventures of a group of science fiction fans. Since my interest in sci-fi and fantasy has been dropping I was gonna stop reading, but the stories are so good I couldn't quit.

The Straight Dope
Syndicated newspaper column where readers send in questions and some guy called Cecil Adams answers them, often with humorous or enlightening results.

Weather.com
What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Fine Arts Theater
Asheville's independent movie theater.

Dictionary.com
The place I go when I need a word in English.

Your Dictionary.com
The place I go when I need a word not in English. An extensive collection of dictionaries in many languages. Also home to utilites such as the Language Guesser, which can attempt to identify what language a passage of text is written in.

Websites of Friends and People I Know

Algedonic Arts
Website showcasing artwork by the husband of one of the CoF regulars.

Chuck's Website
Chuck's personal webpage.

Fata Morgana
A site showcasing the electronic paintings of Macaroo, the lady who runs an atheiest/agnostic/freethinker's message board I sometimes frequent.

Friendswood Brooms
Marlow's family business.

Kitty's Website
Catherine's personal webpage.

Tardis Labs
Nate's personal webpage.

Theta-G.net
Pete's website. His IRC server houses the CoF chat.

Whofind
Doctor Who search engine created by Steve.

Other Websites I've Found Interesting

The Blue Ridge Parkway
The Official Website of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The Folk Art Center
The Official Website of the Folk Art Center, an attraction on the Blue Ridge Parkway north of Asheville.

Opera
My web browser of choice.

World Flag Database
Website containing images of national and regional flags from around the world.

Switchboard.com
An online telephone directory, containing both white pages and yellow pages listings.

W3Schools.com
The place I go when I need to know how to do HTML. Includes tutorials on HTML, XHTML, CSS, javascript and others. Also full reference charts for all HTML tags.

That's all for now. Go....
