About Tamarack

We are located in the Minneapolis/St Paul, MN area. We are active in many canine activities including AKC conformation shows, tracking (competitive Search and Rescue) and agility. Tamarack is the home of CH Wolftree's Nevada Gem TD NAJ NA CGC and Tamarack’s Rock’N Racer (Field Spaniels) and Abelard's Peekaboo Girl CGC (Golden Retriever).

We are not a “kennel”, as our dogs are family members, living in the home and enjoying life as show/performance dogs on the weekends. Most of the time, our dogs are regular family dogs, going to soccer games and hanging out with the kids.

Field Spaniels are NOT for everyone! Field Spaniels are an active, intelligent breed that require an active, intelligent owner! Field Spaniels are very social, and need to be part of the family, not kept as kennel dogs. Field Spaniels are excellent natural hunters, who can be trained to
use their scenting ability for tracking or Search and Rescue work. They need daily exercise, and many excel in the agility or obedience ring. Field Spaniels are happiest when they have work to do, but can also settle down for a nice snooze with their people.
