84. Joseph Frank⁴ Salzmann (Anna Mary³ Averkamp, Gerhard (George)², Anton Vicentius¹) was born in Cuba City, Grant Cty, WI April 9, 1919. Joseph died March 4, 1996 in Dubuque, Dubuque Cty, IA, at 76 years of age.

Telegraph Herald March 6, 1996 Joe Salzmann Dickeyville, Wis. - Services for Joe Salzmann, 76, 223 Maureen St., Dickeyville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Dickeyville, with the Rev. James Gunn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Casey Funeral Home, Cuba City, where there will be a parish wake service at 6:45 p.m. Mr. Salzmann farmed in the Dickeyville area, retiring in 1984. He was born on April 9, 1919, in Parish Township, son of Adolph and Anna (Averkamp) Salzmann. He died Monday morning, March 4, 1996, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit, Dubuque. He married Lillian Kaiser on Jan. 2, 1946, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Dickeyville. He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and a 50-year member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed bus trips and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Lillian, of Dickeyville; two daughters, Diane (Steve) Breitbach, of Dubuque, and Lois (Rod) Habel, of Downers Grove, Ill.; three sons, Dale (Julie) Salzmann and Bob (Theresa) Salzmann, both of Dickeyville, and Bill (Bev) Salzmann, of Galena, Ill.; five sisters, Sister Clara Salzmann SDS, of Milwaukee, Marion Lange, of Platteville, Cahterine Lange, of Dickeyville, Helena Lawinger, of Mineral Point, and Rita (Ed) McKeon, of Darlington; a brother, John (Mary) Salzmann, of Dickeyville; six grandchildren, Kyle, Cody, Jacob and Megan Salzmann, and Lainie and Karissa Habel; and four stepgrandchildren, Scott and Kelly Breitbach, and Lisa and Adam Webster. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Father Ed Salzmann.

Joseph Frank Salzmann and Lillian Catherine Kaiser had the following children:
