She married Ervin William Lange in Dickeyville, Grant Cty, WI, February 16, 1944. Ervin was born in Dickeyville, Grant Cty, WI February 19, 1911. Ervin was the son of Charles Lange and Matilda Kieler. Ervin died November 20, 1984 in Platteville, Grant Cty, WI, at 73 years of age. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Martin Page Funeral Home, Platteville, with a parish rosary at 7:45 p.m. Friends may also call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. She was born on Sept. 15, 1922, in Dickeyville, the daughter of Adolph and Anna (Averkamp) Salzmann. She married Ervin Lange on Feb. 16, 1944, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dickeyville. Together they farmed for years in the Union area, rural Platteville. She was a loving, full-time wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Parish, St. Mary's CCW and a devout Catholic. Marian enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, cooking and visiting with her friends. She was enjoyed by the staff at Heartland Health Care Center. Surviving are three daughters, Doris A. (Jim) Doherty, of Ona-laska, Jane L. Lange, of Scottsdale, and Arlene R. (Steve) Adams, of Cassville; two sons, Daniel E. (Judy) Lange, of Appleton, and David J. (Ann) Lange, of Pittsboro, N.C.; eight grandchildren; a step-grandchild; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, in 1984; two sons, Eugene, in 1972, and Michael in 1985; her parents; two brothers, Edmund and Joseph Salzmann; and a step-grandchild, Brandon Cowen.
