250. Walter Lyman7 Coulthart (John Sidenham6, Walter5, John4, John3, John2, Christopher1) was born in Wisconsin August 29, 1877. Walter died March 11, 1963 in Swan River, MB, at 85 years of age. His body was interred March 15, 1963 in Birchwood Cemetery, Swan River.
He married Maud Frances Bratton in Rudolph, Wood Cty, WI, September 18, 1905. Maud was born February 22, 1886. Maud was the daughter of Thomas Bratton and Jane McVey. Maud died August 10, 1960 at 74 years of age. Winnipeg Free Press August 11, 1960 Mrs. Maude Frances Coulthart, 74, of Kenville, Man., died Wednesday in King Edward Hospital.. She moved to the Minnitonas district 55 years ago and moved to Kenville in 1914. She was a member of Kenville United Church Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband, Walter; one son, Walter; three daughters, Mrs. Almon Cotton, Mrs. Clarence Cotton and Mrs. George Schultz; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body will be sent to Swan River, Man., for funeral service and burial. OBITUARIES Walter Lyman Coulthart Death came Mar. 11, at Brandon to Walter Lyman Coulthart. He was 86. The late Mr. Coulthart was born and spent his early life in the State of Wisconsin. Emigrating to Canada in 1903, he settled at Dauphin and a year later moved to Minitonas, where he opened a poolhall and barbershop. He married Maude Francis Bratton at Wisconsin Rapids in 1905. Mr. Coulthart began farming in the Kenville area in 1914, then, 13 years later, entered the general store business there. He retired in 1945 and while living mainly at home, spent the winter months in Weslaco, Texas. He had, due to failing health, lived with his daughter, Mrs. A. W. Cotton of Swan River, since early in 1962. Mr. Coulthart was an active member of the United church and a Mason. He was predeceased by his wife. Surviving are one son and three daughters: W. A. Coulthart of Headingly, Mrs. A. W. Cotton of Swan River, Mrs. C. A. Cotton of Kenville and Mrs. G. E. Schultz of St. Vital: also one brother, R. J. Coulthart of Racine, Wisc. There are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Mar. 15 from Kenville United church with interment following in Birchwood cemetery, Swan River. Pallbearers(active) were Allan Cotton, Wilford Cotton, William McKay, Ed Burnett, John McCleary and George Russenholt; (honorary) J. Nelson Cotton, H. A. Harris, J. Umkehier, S. B. How, William Garrioch, T. A. Ouart, W. I. Steen, Thomas Martin, E. Cober and H. J. Mortimer. Masonic last rites were observed at the graveside. Edwin V. Paull funeral home had charge of arrangements."

Frances was the daughter of William Mawhinney and Hanna ?. Frances died December 7, 2004 in Swan River, MB, at 101
years of age. Her body was interred December 15, 2004 in Birchwood Cemetery, Swan River. Frances Coulthart 1903-2004
Following a long illness, Frances Coulthart of the Swan River Valley Personal Care Home, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2004. She was
101 years of age. Frances was born in Stutsman County, North Dakota, U.S.A. on October 18, 1903 to parents William and Hanna Mawhinney. She
received her education at Shaw School in the Swan River District. Frances married Walter Coulthart on April 20, 1931 in Kenville, Manitoba.
Frances was predeceased by her father, William Mawhinney in 1942; her mother Hanna Mawhinney in 1952; her husband Walter in 1990; her twin
sister Stella Vopni in May 1991; her sister Olga Eagle in December 1995 and her sister Margaret McCullough in 2004. Frances in survived by
her sister Mary Cowan of Brandon, Manitoba; sister-in-law Violet Cotton of Swan River, Manitoba and several nieces and nephews. Frances
farmed with her husband Walter, West of Swan River for several years and later as grain buyers for Manitoba Pool Elevators in several
Manitoba communities until they retired to their home in Kenville, Manitoba in 1966. Funeral services were held from the Chapel of Swan
Valley Funeral Services Ltd. on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Kathy Highmoor officiating. Internment followed in
the Birchwood Cemetery, Swan River, Manitoba. Pallbearers were Douglas Coulthart, Stuart L. Coulthart, Stuart A. Coulthart and Ernie Eagle.
Arrangements were entrusted to Jim Webster, Swan Valley Funeral Services Ltd., 363 Kelsey Trail (hwy 10 North) Swan River, Manitoba
