6. Walter⁴ Coulthart (John³, John², Christopher¹) was born in Riddingdyke, Cummertrees, Dumfriesshire, Scotland about 1781. Walter died January 26, 1847 in Hoddam Parish, Dumfriesshire, Scotland, at 65 years of age.

He married Janet Byers.

Walter Coulthart and Janet Byers had the following children:

33 i. James⁵ Coulthart was born in Knockburn, Hoddam Parish, Scotland 1801. James died 1874 at 73 years of age.

34 ii. William Coulthart was born in Knockburn, Hoddam Parish, Scotland 1803. William died 1890 at 87 years of age.

35 iii. Ann Coulthart was born in Knockburn, Hoddam Parish, Scotland 1805. Ann died 1840 at 35 years of age.

36 iv. Margaret Coulthart was born in Knockburn, Hoddam Parish, Scotland 1807. Margaret died 1845 at 38 years of age.

37 v. John Coulthart was born in Knockburn, Hoddam Parish, Scotland 1809. John died 1875 at 66 years of age.

38 vi. Walter Coulthart was born in Knockburn, Hoddam Parish, Scotland 1814. Walter died 1892 at 78 years of age.

39 vii. Janet Coulthart was born in Knockburn, Hoddam Parish, Scotland 1823. Janet died 1824 at 1 year of age.
