Mrs. DuBois sweetly sang "Some Day We'll Understand," "Shall You? Shall I?" "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "Some Sweet Day," hymns which were loved by the deceased. Mr. Hunter was converted at the age of nine years and always loved to tell of the joy which was his as he knelt in prayer at the foot of the hemlock stump near his home in Canada and gave his childish heart to God. In after years he united with the M.E. church of which he remained a loyal member. He was ever ready to help in the Sunday school, prayer meeting or any organization which was for the uplift of those about him. To use his own words, he "tried to live on the square with his God and with his fellowmen." He held many offices of trust and responsibility and could always be counted on as a helper in any work or enterprise which was for the betterment of the community.
