1281. Stephen Bruce10 Coulthart (William Frank9, William Frank8, William Finley7, John Finley6, William5, John4, John3, John2, Christopher1) was born in Boston, Suffolk Cty, MA April 13, 1933. Stephen died December 6, 2006 in Oneida, Madison Cty, NY, at 73 years of age.

He married Virginia Terrell in Oneida Castle, Oneida Cty, NY, February 28, 1953. Stephen was adopted by William and Norma Coulthart. Oneida Daily Dispatch December 9, 2006 ONEIDA - Stephen B. Coulthart, 73, West Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at the Oneida Healthcare Center, where he had been admitted earlier in the day. Born in Boston, Mass., on April 13, 1933, he was the son of W. Frank and Norma Keller Coulthart. A resident of the area since childhood, Mr. Coulthart was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1951 and the New York Ranger School in Wanakena, Class of 1953. He married Virginia Terrell in Cochran Memorial Presbyterian Church, Oneida Castle on Feb. 28, 1953. Prior to his retirement in 1988, Mr. Coulthart was employed as a civil engineer with the 416th Civil Engineering Squadron at Griffiss Air Force Base and following his retirement, assisted with Anthony Glover Engineering. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Oneida where he served on the Board of Trustees and various committees, served as a board member and past president of the NYS Rangers School Alumni Association where he received the Philip J. Haddock Alumni Award in 2003, volunteered with the Fort Stanwix Garrison, volunteered with the Chittenango Landing Canal Museum, was a member of the Upstate Citizens for Equality and enjoyed stamp collecting, fishing, hiking, and reading. Active in Boy Scouting, Steve was an Eagle Scout and a Silver Beaver Award recipient; he served as Scoutmaster for the former Troop 4 at the United Methodist Church, on the committee for Troop 2, the Explorer Post, on the Board of the Madison County and the Ft. Stanwix Councils, on the Camp Eatonbrook staff in the 1950s and 1960s, and participated in the National Jamborees in 1960 and 1964. A veteran of the Korean War era, Mr. Coulthart served with the United States Army. Surviving are his wife, Virginia; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth B. and Roberta Coulthart of Hackettstown, N.J., James E. and Colleen M. Coulthart and Andrew S. and Elaine D. Coulthart, all of Oneida; one daughter, Patricia A. Bliss and Mark Grainer of Chittenango; his parents, Frank and Norma Coulthart of Oneida; six grandchildren, Sara Coulthart, Stephen J. Coulthart, Andrew S. Coulthart II, Rebecca E. Coulthart, Benjamin Bliss and Samantha Bliss; one brother, William H. Coulthart of Oneida and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Laurence K. Coulthart on May 27, 1994 and his grandparents, Hugo and Carrie Keller. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday from the First United Methodist Church, Main at Grove Streets, Oneida, with the Rev. Betsye Mowry, officiating. Interment will be made in Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the church, noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, prior to the funeral service. Contributions, in his memory, for those so wishing, may be made to New York State Ranger School Endowment Fund, (Attention: Chris Westbrook), or the Ranger School Alumni Association (Attention: Gail Simmons), Box, 48, Wanakena, NY 13695 or to the First United Methodist Church, Main and Grove Streets, Oneida, NY 13421.
