539. Holger M8 Johnson (Mable7 Coulthart, Walter6, Walter5, John4, John3, John2, Christopher1) was born in Grafton, Walsh Cty, ND April 4, 1918. Holger died May 12, 2004 in Tacoma, Pierce Cty, WA, at 86 years of age.

He married twice. He married Helen A Nelson. Helen died 1959. News Tribune May 19, 2004 Holger M. Johnson Holger M. Johnson, 86, passed away May 12, 2004 at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. He was born in Grafton, North Dakota on April 4, 1918. Retired Sergeant-Major Johnson had an Army career which spanned 31 years, including WWII, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. As a member of South Lakeshore Christian Church in Tacoma, WA, he was active with youth, church dinners and seniors. He enjoyed animals, as well as vegetable and flower gardening. He loved his church, family, friends and helping others, especially seniors. Holger is survived by his wife, Florida of 45 years, 6 children, 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 God-children and a brother and sister. He was preceded in death by one son. There will be a memorial service at South Lakeshore Christian Church on Friday, May 21 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Lakeshore Christian Church Youth Group. Internment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery. We will miss his laughter and his smile.
