410. Wendell Eugene8 Hunter (William Francis7, William Nathaniel6, Jane5 Coulthart, John4, John3, John2, Christopher1) was born in Perham, Ottertail Cty, MN May 20, 1918. Wendell died February 18, 2000 in Northfield, Rice Cty, MN, at 81 years of age. His body was interred February 22, 2000 in Oaklawn Cemetery, Northfield, MN.

Northfield News February 25, 2000 Wendell Eugene Hunter Wendell Eugene Hunter, 81, died on Friday Feb. 18, 2000, at Northfield Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on May 20, 1918, to William and MaeBelle (Harter) Hunter in Perham. His family moved a number of times during his childhood and he attended school in Minneapolis, rural Northfield, Prior Lake and Shakopee. He worked in the area for a time following school and then joined the United State Army in January of 1941. On Nov. 15, 1943, he married Cornelya "De" Brint in Roseburg, Ore. And they spent time together at Camp White in Oregon before Hunter was transferred overseas with the First Medical Regiment to numerous islands of the Southwest Pacific. Following discharge he and his wife spent a year around Reston and Roseburg, Ore. Where he worked as a carpenter. In 1946 they moved to Northfield and worked on his uncle Jim's farm until 1949. The moved to Washington where they dairy farmed for three years before returning to Northfield when he purchased his uncle's farm in 1954. The Scoita Township farm had been his grandfather's and in the Hunter family since 1865. Following retirement, Hunter took up riding motorcycles and enjoyed numerous cycle trips. He is survived by his wife; sons, William (and Donna) Hunter of Randolph and Carl (and Kathie) Hunter of Northfield; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ethelbert "Bud" Hunter. Services were held on Feb. 22 at Bierman Funeral Home, Rev. Richard Roushar, Cannon Valley Church of Christ officiating. Internment was at Oaklawn Cemetery, with military rites. Pallbearers were William, Carl, Jon, Jenny, Ryan and Krissy Hunter, and Shelley Preslar. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Dow, Lyle Jensen, Bob Lampe, Ray Taylor, Jerry Taylor and Paul Lindenfelser. Arrangements were made by Bierman Funeral Home.

Wendell Eugene Hunter and Cornelia L (De) Brint had the following children:
