He married Bertha Jane Hartwick in Mason, Ingham Cty, MI. Bertha was born in Mason, Ingham Cty, MI December 6, 1918. Bertha died June 11, 1951 in Big Rapids, MI, at 32 years of age. Betty reported that Ed and Bertha were in a fatal auto accident.

Miner Edson Pike and Bertha Jane Hartwick had the following child:
