628. Lawrence Isaac8 Moke (Ira John7, Johiel6, Henrietta5 Coulthart, John4, John3, John2, Christopher1) was born September 19, 1913. Lawrence died December 20, 1987 in Ingleside, ON, at 74 years of age. His body was interred in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Osnaburck Centre, ON.
He married Ruth Edna Beckstead. Ruth was born June 21, 1913. Ruth was the daughter of Henry Chancy Beckstead and Ella Mae Holland. Ruth died October 1994 in Ottawa, Carleton Cty, ON, at 81 years of age. Her body was interred in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Osnaburck Centre, ON. Chesterville Record November 2, 1994 Ruth Moke Ruth Moke, a lifetime resident of the Osnabruck Township, died peacefully October 18 at Ottawa Civic Hospital after a month-long stay in hospital. She was 78. Mrs. Moke was born June 21, 1916, the youngest daughter of the late Henry Chancy Beckstead and the former Ella Mae Holland. She farmed with her husband Lawrence Isaac Moke on Neville Road in Ingleside until retirement. Mr. Moke died in 1987. Mrs. Moke was dear mother of Betty Torok of Kapuskasing, Ont., Anna (Mrs. Earl Robinson) of Monkland, Gladys (Mrs. William Adams) of Cornwall, Richard Moke of St. Andrews West, Catherine Johnston of Chatham and Stuart Moke of RR 3 Ingleside. Others that were very special to her were Doris, Mrs. Fraser Hanna and family of Finch, and Cathy Rever and her son Jason of Cornwall. She was the proud grandmother of 13, Wade Torok of Kapuskasing, Bryce and Mark Robinson of Monkland, Neil Robinson of Toronto, Charyl (Mrs. Ronald McLaughlin) of Mondlank, Steven Adams (Nicole) of Lunenburg, Jeff, Rene Andrew and Matthew Adams, all of Cornwall, Chris and Tammy Moke of Ingleside and Kimberly Gawne of B.C. She is also survived by great-grandsons Nathan, Kyle and Devon Adams and Justin Moke, and by her sister, Annie Ferguson of Janet MacDonell Pavilion, Cornwall. She will be missed by ten nieces and five nephews. Mrs. Moke is predeceased by brother William and his wife Ethel Beckstead and brother Garnet and his wife Dorothy Beckstead. Funeral services were held October 21 at Brownlee Funeral home, Finch and were conducted by Rev. Willard Warnock of Emmanuel-Osnabruck Baptist Church. The hymns "Blessed Assurance" and "What a Friend we have in Jesus" were sung. Internment was in the family plot at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Osnabruck Township. Pallbearers were grand-nephews Kevin Hanna and James Beckstead and grandsons Chris Moke, Jeffrey Adams, Bryce Robinson and Wade Torok. Lawrence I. Moke Funeral services were held for Lawrence I. Moke Thurs., Dec. 24, at the Brownlee Funeral home in Finch. Lawrence I Moke died suddenly at his RR3 Ingleside home on Sunday Dec. 20, 1987. Born Sept. 19, 1913, he was the son of the late Ira John Moke and the late Hazel M. Donnelly. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, who he married Sept. 18, 1935, at the Osnabruck Baptist church manse. He is also survived by his children: Mrs. Betty Torok, Kapuskasing, Ont.; Anna, Mrs. Earl Robinson of Monkland; Gladys, Mrs. William Adams of Cornwall; Catherine Gawne of Merlin, Ontario; Richard Moke of St. Andrews West; Stuart Moke of Langley, B.C. and a special someone, Doris, Mrs. Fraser Hanna of Finch. He is survived by 13 grandchildren: Wade Torok: Bryce, Neil and Mark Robinson; Charyl, Steven, Andrew, Jeffrey and Matthew Adams; Kimberly Gawne; Chris and Tammy Moke and Jason Rever, and also a sister-in-law, Mrs. Annie Ferguson of Ingleside. Funeral service was conducted by Pastor Steven Black of Emmanuel Osnabruck Baptist Church, Ingleside. Mr. Edwin Waldroff sang What a Friend We Have in Jesus and In Sweet Bye and Bye during the funeral. Internment was in the family plot at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 5th Concession, Osnabruck Township. Pallbearers were Gordon Beckstead, Bill Beckstead, James Beckstead, Richard Donnelly, Kevin Hanna and Brian Rombough.
