Marie Kirley was born May 24, 1893. Marie died February 21, 1905 in Chicago, Cook Cty, IL, at 11 years of
age. Her body was interred February 23, 1905 in St. Patrick's Church Cemetery, Doylestown, WI. Badger Blade March 2,
1905 Marie Kirley After a long sad lingering sickness, reaching over a period of several months, the soul of Marie Kirley took its
flight to its heavenly home on Feb 20, 1905, at Chicago where she had gone in hopes of warding off the attacks of the silent messenger.
During her last hours she was surrounded by her father, mother and only sister Frances, who remained with her continually during her last
illness. "Oh! Death where is thy sting Oh! Grave where is thy victory." How applicable are the above words of the inspired author to
the deceased. Loving, cheerful, energetic, talented far beyond her years, she lived among us these few brief years only to be loved by all
who knew her. Let us console ourselves by remembering that He who in His apparent prodigality, wastes not the raindrop, the blade of grass,
nor evening's flying zephyr, but makes them all to carry out his eternal plan. He can also render blessing where sorrows are freely
showered, so that after the sable clouds of adversity blow away if we could but pierce the mystic vail of futurity, we could behold beyond
these fleecy clouds the radiant features of our beloved Marie, beckoning us to "Be fleet, I know it will be sweet to kneel and kiss thy
feet, in Heaven, Oh, my God." The funeral occurred from St. Patrick's church, Doylestown, Feb. 23, interment in the church cemetery.
Those from a distance were: Ella Sullivan, Chicago; Patrick Sullivan, wife and son, Richwood; David of Minneapolis, Cornelia of Milwaukee,
Katie of Beaver Dam, all cousins, also uncle Daniel Riordan and daughter, Anna of Kaukauna. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy
of all who know them.
