50. Frank D.3 Conery (Margaret Eliza2 McMahon, Edward Matthew1) was born in Courtland, Columbia Cty, WI August 15, 1867. Frank died November 17, 1913 in Rio, Columbia Cty, WI, at 46 years of age.
He married Marie Elizabeth Gadow 1889. Marie was born in Germany October 29, 1869. Marie died October 31, 1948 in Rio, Columbia Cty, WI, at 79 years of age. Rio Journal November 4, 1948 Mrs. Frank Conery Dies Following Long Illness Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Frank Conery at the Thompson and the Rio Lutheran church Tuesday, Nov. 2, by the Rev. E. W. Wilson. Mrs. Conery died Sunday morning. Oct. 31 following a long illness. She was 79 years of age. Mrs. George Schultz accompanied the Rev. Mr. Wilson in the singing of "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "Rock of Ages". Pallbearers were Fred and Lawrence Crinion of Beaver Dam, Robert Sommerfeldt of Wausau, Henry Peters, Jr., of Tomahawk, William Kumbier of Wausau and Arthur Nielson of Rio. Mrs. Conery was born Marie Elizabeth Gadow in Germany on October 29, 1869. She came to America in 1873. On April 6, 1884 she was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Beaver Dam. She had lived in the Rio vicinity about 40 years. In 1889 she was married to Frank Conery who later was killed in a train accident on Nov. 17, 1913. Eight children were born to them. Children living are William of Rio; Viola, Mrs. Henry Peters of Tomahawk; LeRoy of Doylestown; Beatrice, Mrs. Arnold Behrends of Wausau; Harold of Rio; David of Spokane, Wash. Two children Ruth and Earl, preceded Mrs. Crinion in death. There are also five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews living. Badger Blade November 21, 1913 Frank Connery Killed by Cars Struck by Train No. 18 at Parker's Crossing West of Rio Monday evening this community was shocked to hear the sudden death of one of its residents, Frank Connery, who was struck and instantly killed by the cars at what is known as Parker's crossing about two miles West of Rio. Mr. Connery, who had been at work at his trade as stone mason at Portage, bought a ticket for Rio and boarded the first section of No. 18, which leaves Portage at 4:45. It is reported that he was put off the train at Wyocena because he did not or could not produce a ticket or pay his fair on demand of the conductor. Mr. Connery immediately set our a foot for Rio and had gotten as fast Parker's crossing when he was overtaken by the second section of 18. His body was thrown to the ground and nearly every bone in his body was broken. There was a deep gash in the back of his head and his legs, arms and neck were broken. After the train crew had laid out the body the train proceeded to Rio where the authorities were notified. Kennedy Scott obtained permission by telephone from Dist. Atty. Bogue to remove the body to Rio. Ed Parker who lives a few rods from the accident happened, broth the body to the village hall to await the arrival of Mr. Bogue and Coroner McSorley, who arrived next morning. Upon investigation it was decided not to hold an inquest. He was born in the town of Courtland and was at the time of his death forty-six years, two months and two days old. Besides his wife he leaves five children, Viola, Beatrice, William, Paul, Harlan and Le Roy; and five brothers and one sister to mourn his untimely death. The funeral was held Thursday from St .Patrick's church at Doylestown. Acting as pall-bearers were: Otto Schliesman, Chas. Caldwell, Pat Miles and Thos. Ford. Internment was in the Doylestown cemetery. Among the relatives from out of town in attendance at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Connery of Dousman, Maurice Connery of Iron Mountain, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Spencer of Hartford, Mr. and Mrs. Crinion of Beaver Dam and Mr. and Mrs. W. Schwartz of Barnett Junction.

Viola D. Conery was born December 10, 1898. Viola died October 8, 1986 in Woodruff, Oneida Cty, WI, at 87
years of age. Her body was interred in Calvary Cemetery, Tomahawk. She married Henry Harry
Peters in Doylestown, Columbia Cty, WI, June 7, 1921. Henry was born June 21, 1896. Henry was the son of Mathew Peters
and Mary Novak. Henry died September 20, 1971 in Tomahawk, WI, at 75 years of age. His body was interred in
Calvary Cemetery, Tomahawk.
