39. Stanley3 Todish (Peter Bartlett2, Martin1) was born in Menominee, Menominee Cty, MI July 21, 1895. Stanley died September 22, 1954 in Mansfield, MI, at 59 years of age. His body was interred February 5, 1970 in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
He married Marie St. Louis in Iron Mountain, Dickinson Cty, MI, February 8, 1926. Marie was born in Iron Mountain, Dickinson Cty, MI September 20, 1900. Marie was the daughter of Felix St.Louis and Mary Anne Doucett. Marie died February 2, 1970 in Kingsford, MI, at 69 years of age. Her body was interred in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain. Mrs. Todish Succumbs Unexpectedly Mrs. Marie Todish, 69, of 1108 West B street, died unexpectedly Monday at the Pine Manor Medical Facility, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Todish was born Sept. 20, 1900, in Iron Mountain and was a lifelong resident of the city. She attended local schools. She was the former Marie St. Louis and married Stanley Todish in Iron Mountain in February of 1922. He preceded her in death in 1954. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Margery) Small of Marquette and Mrs. Allen (Lois) Helberg of Iron Mountain; four brothers, George Burns of Sagola; Felix and Arthur St. Louis of Detroit and Clarence St. Louis of Iron Mountain; three sisters, Mrs. James (Lillian) Roberts and Mrs. Roland (Angeline) Arbour of Iron Mountain and Mrs. Scott (Vida) Hazelberg of Green Bay and 10 grandchildren. Friends may call at the Tondin Funeral home from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, Fr. Bourgeois will have the parish rosary at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Services will be held at 10:40 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home and at 11 a.m. at SS Mary and Joseph church. The Rev. Fr. T. Lester Bourgeois will intone the requiem mass. Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
He was inducted into the military in Newport, WA, September 22, 1917. He was released from active duty October 10, 1919. Florence Mining News October 1, 1954 Carbon Monoxide Gas Claims Lives of Pair at Camp Internment in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain followed funeral services Tuesday for two Iron Mountain brothers-in-law whose lives were snuffed out by deadly carbon monoxide gas from a defective bottle-gas refrigerator as they slept in their hunting camp on Holmes lakes in Mansfield township last week. The bodies of Stanley Todish, 55, and James W. Rhodes, 41, were found in bed in the snugly built cement block structure Saturday evening when family members went to investigate why the pair hadn't returned home Friday as planned. Mr. Todish was born on July 21, 1895, at Menominee. He had been a resident of Iron Mountain for the past 55 years. He was for years employed in the fire department of Ford Motor company. He was a veteran of World War I. In addition to his wife, Marie, he leaves two daughters, Lois, at home; and Mrs. Donald Small, of Marquette; six brothers, Frank, of Washington, Peter of Oregon; Evo, of Denver, Colo.; Joseph, of Florence; Jake and William, of Oregon; one sister, Mrs. Robert Marozzi, of Oregon, and three grandchildren.
