She married Lawrence C. Phelps in Menominee, Menominee Cty, MI, 1909. Lawrence was born in Howard City, Montcalm Cty, MI August 14, 1884. Lawrence died August 6, 1953 in Menominee, Menominee Cty, MI, at 68 years of age. Marinette Eagle Star August 6, 1953 Patient For Day; Dies In Hospital Lawrence Phelps Rites Saturday Lawrence Phelps, 68, of 3500 12th St., Menominee, died at 10:15 a.m. today at St. Joseph-Lloyd Hospital where he had been a patient for only one day. He had been ill for eight years. Mr. Phelps was employed at the M. and M. Box Co. until eight years ago when he suffered a stroke. He was born Aug. 14, 1884, at Howard city, Mich., and came to Menominee 45 years ago. In 1910, he married Eva Toddish who survives him. Other survivors are three sons, Fred, Wallace and Joseph, all of Menominee; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Weinschrott of Menominee, Mrs. Joseph Schuster of Ingallston, and Mrs. Francis Raygo of Marinette; one brother, Elmer, and 16 grandchildren. The body is at Lemieux funeral home where friends may call from 2 p.m. Friday until the funeral hour on Saturday. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. The hour of service will be announced Friday.

Marinette Eagle Star June 14, 1965 Death Claims Mrs. Phelps Mrs. Eva Phelps, 82, of 3500 12th St., Menominee died at 11:45 a.m., Sunday at St. Joseph-Lloyd Hospital where she had been a patient since Thursday. Mrs. Phelps was born July 23, 1882, at Muskegon, Mich. She moved to Menominee in 1906 where she was married to Lawrence Phelps in 1909. He died in August 1953. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Francis Raygo of Marinette, Mrs. Germaine Wenschrott of Menominee and Mrs. Joseph Schuster of Stephenson; two sons, Joseph and Wallace of Menominee; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Phelps will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. William's Church of which she was a member, with the Rev. Louis Bracket officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lemieux funeral home where the rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Elizabeth was born in Menominee, Menominee Cty, MI April 1, 1924. Elizabeth was the daughter of Joseph Sobeski and Mary ?. Elizabeth died July 6, 1980 in Menominee, Menominee Cty, MI, at 56 years of age. Her body was interred in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee, MI. Marinette Eagle-Star July 7, 1980 Mrs. Wallace Phelps Mrs. Wallace Phelps, 56, 1102 36th Ave., died Sunday morning at Menominee County Lloyd Hospital. She had been hospitalized for three weeks. The former Elizabeth Sobeski was born April 1, 1924, in Menominee. She was married May 18, 1946. She was employed at Lloyd Manufacturing Co. at the time of her death. Mrs. Phelps was a member of Resurrection Catholic church. She is survived by her husband, three brothers, William Sobeski, Dallas, Tex., Kenneth and Robert of Menominee; six sisters, Mrs. Ben Mikolas of Wallace, Mrs. Walter Williams, Milwaukee; Mrs. Kenneth Gusick, Green Bay; Mrs. Harold Walters, Peshtigo; Mrs. Harold Larsen, Menominee; Mrs. Richard Couillard, Marinette. Friends may call at the Lemieux Funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Liturgical prayers will be recited at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Joseph Gouin officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Peshtigo Times May 25, 2005 Wallace ''Wally'' Phelps Wallace "Wally" Phelps, 86, a resident of 1102 36th Ave., Menominee, MI, passed away Monday, May 16 at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette. He was born May 18, 1918, in Menominee, MI, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence (Eva Todish) Phelps. He married Elizabeth Sobeski in 1946 in Menominee and she preceded him in death in 1980. He worked for Kargard Industries for 30 years retiring March 27, 1980. He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, the DAV and the Boilermakers Union. He served in the Army during World War II. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Joe (Agnes) Schuster of Ford River, MI; several nieces and nephews and a special friend. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Visitation was held Thursday, May 19 at Cadieu Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. with a church prayer at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, May 20 at 11 a.m. at the Resurrection Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Francis DeGroot officiated and burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
