224. Ralph G (Spud)5 Holub (Mayme4 Wise, Mary3 Todish, John2, Martin1) was born in Menominee, Menominee Cty, MI August 26, 1917. Ralph died January 17, 1994 in Green Bay, Brown Cty, WI, at 76 years of age. His body was interred in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee, MI.
He married Leona Cecelia Williams December 9, 1940. Leona was born in Cedar River, Menominee Cty, MI December 19, 1917. Leona was the daughter of Samuel Williams and Cecelia Chase. Leona died December 13, 2007 in Stephenson, MI, at 89 years of age. Marinette Eagle Herald December 15, 2007 Leona Cecelia Holub Leona Cecelia Holub, 89, passed away Thursday, December 13, 200,7 at Roubal Care and Rehab Center in Stephenson, Mich. She was born December 19, 1917, in Cedar River, Mich., one of nine children of Samuel and Cecelia (Chase) Williams. Leona attended schools is Marinette, Wis., On December 9, 1940, she married Ralph (Spud) Holub. They lived their entire 54 years of married life in Menominee. Leona was very well known for the beautiful crochet work of baby items and doilies she made. Many times she could hardly keep up with all the orders she received. In later years, Leona enjoyed an occasional casino trip with favorite sister-in-law, Beverly Nerat and John Moker; and also her monthly luncheons with "The Cousins". Leona was very well cared for and really enjoyed living at Roubals. She would say very often how good they all treated her, and she called them all her new friends. When asked once if she was a short or long term patient, she said she hoped long term because it was so much nicer than living alone. Her stay wasn't real long, but her final months were good ones surrounded by everyone who cared. Leona is survived by daughter, Nancy Clermont of Menominee; grandchildren: Kevin of Wallace, Mich., and Lori of Marinette, Wis.; sister-in-law, Beverly Nerat; and many nieces and nephews. Leona was preceded in death by her husband in 1994; son-in-law, Cal Clermont; and sisters and brothers. Friends may call at Lemieux-Thielen Funeral Home in Menominee, on Wednesday, December 19, 2007, from 11 a.m. until 12 noon. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon with Deacon Vince Beckley officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee Marinette Eagle-Star January 18, 1994 Ralph (Spud) G. Holub Ralph (Spud) G. Holub, age 76, of 1709 26th Ave., Menominee, died Monday, January 17, 1994 at Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay. He was born August 26, 1917 in Menominee, to Frank and Mayme Holub and had resided all his life in Menominee. He had attended local schools and was a member of Resurrection Parish. For 35 years he was employed at Marinette Marine Corp. and was a lead man in the ship fitting department at the time of his retirement in 1978 because of ill health. He was a member of Marinette Marine 25 year Club. Ralph was an avid fur trapper, enjoyed fishing, gardening and was well known in the area for his craft of outdoor yard ornaments. On December 9, 1940 he married the former Leona Williams. Besides his wife he is survived by 1 daughter, Nancy (Cal) Clermont, of Menominee, 2 sister, Elizabeth Angi and Beverly Nerat, both of Menominee, 2 grandchildren, Kevin and Lori Clermont and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Lemieux-Thielen Funeral Home after 4 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be held Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Rick Courier will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee
