He married Bette M Johnson June 18, 1942. Bette was born in Platteville, Grant Cty, WI February 2, 1923. Bette died May 23, 1983 in Cuba City, Grant Cty, WI, at 60 years of age. Platteville Journal May 26, 1983 Bette M. Udelhofen Mrs. Kenneth (Bette) Udelhofen, age 60, Belmont, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 23 at the Southwest Health Center of Cuba City. The former Bette Johnson was born in Platteville on Feb. 2, 1923. She attended the Platteville High School and later attended the UW-Platteville. On June 18, 1942 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Udelhofen. The lived in Platteville, and then in 1946 moved to Belmont. She was formerly employed at Rick's Market of Belmont. She was a member of the St. Philomena Catholic church, the Altar Society, and the Belmont American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are husband, Kenneth; one daughter, Mrs. Hollis (Peggy) Bandt, Madison; one grandson; and one brother, Robert Johnson, Land O Lakes, Wis. The Mergen Funeral home of Platteville was in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held today, May 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Philomena Catholic Church of Belmont with Rev. Fr. Tom Schroder officiating. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. Telegraph Herald November 25, 1997 Kenneth E. Udelhofen Kenneth E. Udelhofen, 75, of Belmont, died Monday morning, Nov. 24, 1997, at Southwest Health Center, Platteville. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Belmont. Fr. Monte Robinson officiated with burial in the Platteville Calvary Cemetery. Graveside military rites were held. Friends called at the Mergen-Boll Funeral Home in Platteville on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. and at the church on Wednesday after 9:30 A.M. The scripture service was held at 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Kenneth Eugene Udelhofen, the son of Harry E. And Gladys M. Reiter Udelhofen, was born May 10, 1922. He attended a rural school. On June 18, 1942, he was united in marriage to Bette Johnson. They lived in Platteville before moving to Belmont in 1946. Mrs. Udelhofen died May 23, 1983. He was employed as a tractor mechanic in Belmont for many years. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a 50-year member of the Hinkins Moody American Legion Post 453 of Belmont. Udelhofen was also a former member and chief of the Belmont Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Lloyd and Dale. Memorials may be given to the Hinkins Moody American Legion Post. Surviving are a daughter, Peggy Bandt of Oxford and a grandson, Daniel (Karen) Bandt of Appleton.
