She married Oliver John Bierman in Tennyson, Grant Cty, WI, September 5, 1934. Oliver was born in Harrison Twsp, Grant Cty, WI June 25, 1912. Oliver was the son of Nicholas Bierman and Ann Neis. Oliver died April 21, 1982 in Lancaster, Grant Cty, WI, at 69 years of age. Platteville Journal April 29, 1982 Funeral services for Oliver John (Ollie) Bierman, 69, who died April 21 in Memorial Hospital, Lancaster were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's church, Tennyson, with Rev. Bernard Kurz officiating. Burial was made in church cemetery. Mr. Bierman was born June 25, 1912 in Harrison Township, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Ann Neis Bierman. He was married to the former Ruth Udelhofen and they operated a farm east of Tennyson. He was a member of St. Andrew-Thomas Holy Name Society and a Charter member of Tennyson Athletic Club. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Nicholas of Stoughton, Samuel, Tipton, Ia., and DeWayne of Potosi; three daughters Mrs. Frank (Mary Jayne) Menne, Potosi, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Doerring, Lancaster and Madonna, Schaumburg, Ill.; eighteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one brother Walter Bierman, Prairie du Chien, and three sisters, Mrs. Laura Pluemer, Mrs. Henry (Lillian) Ames, Mount Clemens, Michigan and Mrs. Viola Kress, Potosi. Friends called at the Metcalfe-Kuenster Funeral home, Potosi, from 3 to 9 p.m., where the rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Telegraph Herald May 21, 2007 POTOSI, Wis. -- Ruth B. Bierman, 90, of Potosi, died Friday, May 18, 2007, at Southwest Health Center, Platteville. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tennyson, with the Rev. Richard Leffler officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery, Tennyson. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services today at Martin Funeral Home, Potosi. She was born on Nov. 14, 1916, in the town of Harrison, daughter of Gerhard and Emma (Van Natta) Udelhofen. She was the last survivor of Gerhard and Emma's 12 children. She married Oliver Bierman on Sept. 5, 1934, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tennyson; he preceded her in death on April 21, 1982. Ruth was a life-long resident of "Yankee Hollow" at the corner of Rockville Road and County O for the past 63 years. As a school girl, she helped in the building of the Dickeyville Grotto. She was a life-long member of St. Andrew Thomas Catholic Church and a member of the CCW. Ruth had a very special love for the rosary and had a collection of 30. Ruth enjoyed quilting, crocheting, feeding her birds and traveling to places such as Alaska, Hawaii, California and Texas, and she had visited both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. She especially loved her family and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth also enjoyed visiting with her friends and especially shopping with Laura Pluemer. Surviving are two sons and three daughters, Nicholas (Marlene), of Stoughton, Mary Jayne (Frank) Menne, of Platteville, Doris (Bob) Doerring, of Lancaster, DeWayne (Lenore), of Galesville, and Madonna Ashbrook, of Schaumburg, Ill.; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Bierman, of Prairie du Chien, and Kathleen Hillary, of Platteville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Sam (Janice); and 11 brothers and sisters.
