19. Otto Celestine (Joseph)3 Udelhofen (Gerhart (Jerry)2, Nicholas1) was born in Grant Cty, WI February 12, 1914. Otto died September 13, 1954 in Dodgeville, Iowa Cty, WI, at 40 years of age.
He married Kathleen Rice in Platteville, Grant Cty, WI. Platteville Journal September 16, 1954 Rites Wednesday for O. Udelhofen Funeral services were held at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday in the Thomas Funeral Home and at 10:00 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Platteville for Mr. Otto Udelhofen, age 39, who passed away in a Dodgeville hospital Monday. The Rev. Fr. John DeRocher, officiated. Burial was in Platteville Calvary cemetery. The Rosary was recited at 7:45 Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Born December 12, 1914 at Cornelia, Mr. Udelhofen, a carpenter by trade, resided in Platteville before moving to Mineral Point four months ago. He had been ill the past three months. Mr. Udelhofen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church of Mineral Point. He was also affiliated with the Eagles Lodge No. 2720 of Platteville. Survivors are his wife, the former Kathleen Rice, Mineral Point; his mother, Mrs. Emma Udelhofen of Potosi; four sisters, Mrs. Phillip Ames, Mrs. Oliver Bierman both of Potosi, Mrs. Clyde Clauer of Dubuque, and Mrs. Purl Reuter, Platteville; six brothers, Thomas Udelhofen, Harry Udelhofen, Bernard Udelhofen all of Platteville, Maynard Udelhofen of Cuba City, George Udelhofen and Frank Udelhofen, both of Potosi.
