1. Nicholas¹ Udelhofen was born in Prussia, Germany May 23, 1835. Nicholas died March 23, 1897 in British Hollow, at 61 years of age. His body was interred in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Tennyson, WI.

He married Elizabeth Dienhart. Elizabeth was born in Bavaria, Germany July 20, 1850. Elizabeth was the daughter of Nicholas Dienhart and Mary ?. Elizabeth died March 24, 1912 in Potosi, Grant Cty, WI, at 61 years of age. Grant County News March 27, 1912 Mrs. Lizzie Udelhoven died at her home at 8 o'clock Sunday morning. She had been a patient sufferer for many weeks. Funeral services were held Wednesday.

Nicholas immigrated, June 17, 1859. Destination: destination unknown. Nicholas participated in the military active duty event August 16, 1862. He was released from active duty August 29, 1865. From the 1890 Veterans Census. Nicholas was a private in Company G, 27th Wisconsin Infantry. He served from August 16, 1862 until his discharge on August 29, 1865. He was discharged with Rheumatism. See Grant County, WI, Page 3 Enumeration District 70. Aboard the Saxonia arrived from Southampton England a native from Germany, under the name N. Udelhofen, occupation farmer.

Nicholas Udelhofen and Elizabeth Dienhart had the following children:

+ 2 i. Gerhart (Jerry)² Udelhofen was born July 12, 1873.

+ 3 ii. Anastacia (Daisy) Udelhofen was born December 8, 1877.

4 iii. Jacob Udelhofen was born April 22, 1882. Jacob died August 6, 1967 at 85 years of age. He married Jen Fure. Jen was born March 23, 1881. Jen died December 27, 1973 at 92 years of age. Jacob and Jen had no children.

5 iv. Sophia Udelhofen was born 1884. Sophia died January 12, 1902 at 17 years of age.

+ 6 v. Otto Theodore Udelhofen was born February 12, 1887.

+ 7 vi. Bertha Udelhofen was born February 27, 1890.

+ 8 vii. Anna Ida Udelhofen was born April 14, 1892.
