107. Jan Roman4 Duszak (Jean Marie3 Miller, Anna Ida2 Udelhofen, Nicholas1) was born in Minneapolis, Hennepin Cty, MN December 27, 1953. Jan died August 6, 2006 in Genoa, IL, at 52 years of age.

He married twice. He married Laurie E Cummings in Hennepin Cty, MN, July 22, 1979. He married Faith Elinor Thompson in Rock Island, IL, May 1, 1988. Quiram-Sycamore Jan Roman Duszak, 52, of Genoa , Illinois passed away at home with his loving family at his side on Sunday, August 6, 2006 , after courageously battling melanoma for more than six years. He was born December 27, 1953 , in Minneapolis , Minnesota the son of Jan Walter Duszak (formerly of Lublin , Poland ) and Jean Marie (Miller) Duszak. He married Faith Elinor Thompson on May 1, 1988 in Rock Island . He was a pastor serving area churches, including Park Place Baptist Church in Montgomery , Illinois , and most recently Victory Baptist Church in DeKalb. He was a graduate of Cretin Military School in St. Paul , a graduate of the University of Minnesota receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts while studying as a concert pianist, and graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity Degree. Jan leaves behind a legacy of life and love - he will be greatly missed. He loved the Lord and lived life purposefully as a man of character and conviction balanced with grace and mercy. He enjoyed spending time with all people, particularly his family, and lavished love and attention unsparingly upon his grandchildren. He entertained his family and friends with his quick wit and unique perspective. His hobbies included piano, classical music, reading (history, theology and classical literature), travel, movies and the culinary arts. He is survived by his wife, Faith Duszak of Genoa; four children, Jon Duszak of Genoa, Nathaniel Scalf of Genoa, Rebekah (Sean) Carlson of Mundelein, Jessica (Michael) Polhemus of Springfield; four grandchildren, Dulcinea and Michael Polhemus, Ashlinn and Ian Carlson; mother, Jean Marie Duszak of St. Paul; brother, Michael (Susan Patrow) Duszak of Big Fork, Minnesota; sister, Mary (Thomas) Brown of Mahtomedi, Minnesota; niece and nephew, Kelli and Daniel Brown of Mahtomedi, and extended family including Charles and Marilyn Thompson, Hope Douglas, Brenda Hendrickson and Walter Thompson, all of the Quad Cities. He was preceded in death by his father. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9th at Victory Baptist Church , 1930 Sycamore Road , DeKalb , Illinois . Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home. Interment will be in Genoa Cemetery .
