Dear Human Resources Manager:

I appreciate the time you are taking in reviewing my resume.  I am seeking advancement in my career as a Compliance Manager, or similar occupation

I am currently employed by Delta Power Services at the Mecklenburg Power Station in Clarksville, VA, as an Operations Coordinator.  My primary responsibilities can better be encompassed under the umbrella of “Environmental Compliance Manager”, which entails implementation and documentation of compliance issues as they pertain to Federal, State, and local agency regulations and policies.  While my past years of training and experience in power plant operation (nuclear and fossil) has proven to be most valuable to me, and has likewise taken up most of my occupational lifetime, I mostly enjoy the management of reporting.  Yeah, not many folks find that appealing, but I find that it offers me many challenges that I enjoy seeing to accomplishment.

More specifically, I generate reports to our home office on a daily basis to keep them informed of our facility’s performance.  I also maintain the facility’s environmental compliance reporting and documentation with the VA Department of Environmental Quality (including Title V reporting requirements).  Our Toxic Release Inventory, EPCRA information, and other Federal level issues are also originated by me.

In addition to environmental reporting, I maintain the facility’s data archiving system.  Our archiving system allows us to pull up real-time data from as far back as 1997 for purposes of trending, analysis, and reporting.  Utilizing a third-party software program, I have automated many of our data reports, which has resulted in improved accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of data collection.

I attribute much of my success in effectively and efficiently generating and reviewing reports to my many years of computer experience.  That’s where my gratification of seeing “…many challenges that I enjoy seeing to accomplishment…” I wrote of earlier comes into play.  The bigger the challenge, the more I rely on my computer experience to excel.  I believe in working-the-computer, not letting the computer work me.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to review this brief summary and resume.  I encourage you to contact me personally so we can discuss my skills, capabilities, and expertise in more detail in such a way that more closely harmonize with what you are looking for in an employee and member of your staff.

Thank you,

Tony Creson
