Skagway and Yukon Pictures

We arrived in Skagway Saturday morning, and had to get up early to catch a bus into the Yukon, for our saddle and paddle adventure.  Neither the saddle nor the paddle were quite what I had hoped, but the 90 minute bus ride (each way) was worth the trip nonetheless -- we had a great tour guide (Mark), and we had some incredible views of the mountains -- plus, we got up close and personal with a brown bear on the way back.  And MK and I learned that we can paddle a canoe together (we've both canoed before, but not together.)  I did pull a bit of a dirty trick on her -- as you can see from the photos, I made sure we were dressed in almost identical clothes -- white shoes, bluejeans, blue alaska t-shirt, our Star Island overshirt, and blue caps.  She hates it when we dress alike!

Later that evening was when the trouble began -- my stomach started hurting at dinner, and I got very sick with a Norwalk-like virus.  We were quarantined (in our spacious deluxe veranda suite, but still...) for 3 days. Perhaps it was punishment for the trick I pulled on her.  Luckily, the next day was a cruise day, in Glacier Bay park.
