Green Lantern, 1960 series, issues 1-40 (including Showcase 22-24): From Hal Jordan's selection to replace Abin Sur as the Green Lantern for sector 2814, up through the his first meeting with Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott and the revelation of the origin of the Guardians of the Universe ("the First Crisis".) These issues also include his first encounters with some of his most famous foes: Star Sapphire, Dr. Light, Sonar, Evil Star, Black Hand, the Weaponers of Qward, and of course, Sinestro. Within these issues Hal develops as a Green Lantern, learns about the Green Lantern Corps and the Guardians, and meets Tomar-Re and Katma Tui.
