Green Lantern, 1990 series, issues 1-50: It begins here again... and it all ends here as well. With the return of his own series, we see an older, more determined Hal (notice the grey in his hair.) Over the course of these 50 books, Hal and Guy finally settle the matter of who is the Green Lantern of Earth; a new Green Lantern series is born (Mosaic), GL's 50th anniversary is celebrated (#19), several loose ends involving Arisia and the New Guardians are tied up, and the GL Corps is reborn.... only to be destroyed by Hal Jordan himself in issues 48 to 50, as he becomes Parallax in the wake of the destruction of Coast City by the Cyborg Superman (issue 46.) With the destruction of the new GL Corps and the deaths of all the Guardians except Ganthet, a new Green Lantern is chosen -- Kyle Rayner, who must learn to be a Green Lantern without training or guidance.
