A Biography

 

 

Hello, my name is Belial. I am an Agouti-Irish rat who is about 2 years old. I weigh in at 1 lb 14 oz's but I am not fat, I am big-boned. I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and adopted by my Mum. She brought my brother (Leopold) and I home one day. Dad was very happy to see us, a little surprised but happy none the less.

We lived happily in Fort Lauderdale until my brother got bumblefoot. My parents were pretty uneducated then. They took him to the vet but it was too late and my poor brother died of his injuries while our parents tried to heal him. He fought valiently and bravely. My parents loved him very much as did I. He passed on on Memorial Day of 2004. I told my parents that I wanted to create a website that would help other rat owners to avoid bumblefoot, so that other ratties did not have to die like that.

My parents have made good on their promise to me and with a lot of coaching from me, they have finally put up the site. My Dad claims he does most of the work, but we all know different. I am the Director!

Many people wonder where I get my name. My Mum said that Dad named me. He tells me that I am named from a book called, The Goetia or the Lesser Key of Solomon. My name is Belial, one of the 72 spirits of the Goetia. That is all he will tell me, except that he loves me and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. I like my name, I even answer to it once in a while.

My Mum got a job in California. Actually she tells me that her company liked her so much, that they wanted to move all of us out to California. My parents had to fly me out here. I was put into my Rataxi and taken to a very noisy place. There a nice gentleman took me to a HUGE metal building. He put me inside and I heard all these strange noises. My parents had given me lots of grapes so I just munched and slept. When I awoke, Aunt Sara here in L.A. picked me up. I stayed with her for a week until Mum and Dad came out here. Dad had to deal with his cat at the airport. He tells me that I have never wiggle fought like she did.

So, here I am, an L.A. rattie. I like it here. My Mum and Dad have a really nice place in Glendale and they keep me in kibble and whatever else I desire. I will continue to update my website (through my parents) and I will continue to post in my Livejournal. I have fans from all over now and I hope to have many more!
