Master Erik of Telemark is a Historical persona created as a vehicle to study and experience the cultures and lifestyles of Medieval Europe, specifically Norway. The title Master was awarded to Erik for his talent and service to the Crown.

Erik captured Brigit during a 9th century raid on the Celtic village of Limerick, near Loch Ree, in Ireland. Brigit turned out to be quite a valuable captive. Brigit was a dutiful captive and earned the love and respect of her owner, Erik. He was so impressed that he eventually granted Brigit a place at his side. Though legally free to go where she pleased, Brigit chose to remain by his side and serve him.

Brigit's service and honor so impressed the Crown that she was granted titles and two patents of Arms.
