The Tholian Invasion of Y79

This is a non-historical scenario that could have occurred if the Tholian 312th Battle Group had encountered the Tholian world that was being moved to our galaxy after the Seltorian overthrow of their original galaxy. It gives the Tholians an opportunity to play the offensive game for a time, and see how much of the galaxy they can conquer.

History: After the Seltorian overthrow of the Tholian home galaxy, several provincial capitals withdrew from that galaxy using unknown technology to save these worlds from destruction at the hands of the Seltorians. It is assumed that the main Tholian battle fleet fought a retreating campaign, several battle groups found themselves hopelessless cut off from the shrinking Tholian sectors. Knowing surrender meant certain death, these fleets also departed the galaxy taking whatever supplies they could manage. En route to our galaxy, the Tholian 312th Battle Fleet met up with one of the fleeing homeworlds by pure chance in the vastness of intergalactic space. To the mutual benefit of both groups, they continued on the journey to the new galaxy. The fleet was ultimately able to make the journey in good shape due to the supplies provided by homeworld; and the homeworld benefitted in having a capable fleet in it’s defense. Upon arrival, they settled in an unpopulated arm of the Milky Way which was under control of the Klingon Empire.

Technical aspects. Without the supply exhaustion encountered historically, the 312th Fleet was able to arrive earlier and at full strength. The increased knowledge provided by the military, allowed the Homeworld to make it’s police ship more capable, although they were still limited to producing ships smaller than the capital shipyards produced. Due to strains of intergalactic travel, the Tholians did not build ships en route.

Beginning with this scenario, there are no Battle stations or star bases in Tholian territory. Using the printed value of the base stations in Galactic Races as Star bases, the strength of the Tholian Ships is increased to the following values:

NDN- 21+w

NCA- 14+w

NCL- 11+w

The started forces for the Tholian fleet is the following:

2xNDN, 4xNCA, 6xNCL, 6xNDD, 10xNFF, 15xDD.

Production is as follows:

Spring: 1xNDD, 1xDD

Fall: 1xNFF, 1xDD

All Galactic races are under the limitations of the early year rules. The Tholians use all rules from the beginning of the general war.

Appedix:

Given the two conversion pieces of data from the early years.

    1. PC with combat of 4—becomes a 6
    2. Battle station with combat of 18 becomes a 36 (thanks to EW)

The following values are inferred and have not been subject to play testing. I encourage you to submit arguments for changing the values on these ships.
