![]() The Red Rocket is FINISHED! This little Plymouth Neon has been on the back burner now for a couple of years. After almost all the kid's friends learned to drive a stick on it, it has finally received its new look. We had a couple of bumps and dents to fix, so thanks to my hubby, and a close friend of ours, the Neon got smoothed out and patched up. After the body work was finished, we commenced to painting. First, the base color on the fixes, then the flame work to make her look like the Red Rocket she has been so lovingly named. ![]() I scanned a 35mm negative at a very high resolution, fixed any imperfections, cut it into 6 panels, and had it printed on canvas sections that I wrapped and stapled on stretcher bars. This is a photograph from Glacier National Park, and it is hanging in my dining room. I just love it!
![]() Above is the handrail I made for our gameroom stairwell. I measured out the lettering, drew it on, and cut out the top and bottom to give it dimension. Ideally, I would've liked to router out the background arrow about a 1/2" deeper so the lettering popped more, but I don't have nor know how to work a router! I think it turned out pretty cool anyway.
![]() Above are photos of the motorcycle helmet I airbrushed for a friend. The helmet was blue to start. I added the flames in colors to match his motorcycle. |
